“I do give perspective to the precedent. But it should — the precedent should be respectful of our legal tradition, and our country, and our laws, and be based on something, not just something somebody dreamt up and others went along with.”
–Clarence Thomas, questioning legal precedents at an appearance Thursday at the Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law (A precursor to more fealty to Trump by the court?)

Am I missing something here, or is he saying what I think he is saying – that all those precedents were NOT respectful of our legal tradition or our country or our laws or based on “something,” other than what someone just “dreamt” up and others went along with????? I certainly don’t agree with every Supreme Court decision. However, Thomas is being disrespectful of every Supreme Court judge, past and current, and implying that he knows best, while speaking to Columbus School of law. Arrogance plus. I “respectfully” disagree with Mr. Thomas.
It goes hand-in-hand with the Alito Doctrine of “wrongly decided.”
