About that pop quiz: apparently there were many who read Tuesday’s post (according to the stats provided by my web page host), but few who submitted responses.
That could be attributable to a fear of reprisals. After all, there have been scattered reports of people losing jobs or being kicked out of school for what this administration might consider to be negative content about Charlie Kirk.
But one of the advantages of being 82 is that I don’t have to worry about losing a job or getting expelled from school so, I can pretty much say what I think so long as I don’t libel anyone. My opinions are mine and as long as we have a First Amendment, I will continue to comment on events as I see fit.
As for the test to determine which quote was from Kirk and which was from KKK Grand Blizzard David Duke, here are the results:

It’s enough to make you sit back and think about where we’re headed as a country, doesn’t it?

I wish others had participated in the quiz. It was thought-provoking. I do think Duke had Kirk beat on radicalism. It is utterly appalling that Jimmy Kimmel, who DID NOT attack Kirk in the broadcast used to suspend him, was kicked off the air, essentially for even mentioning Kirk while criticizing President Trump for making him a political martyr. Also, those of us wearing my jersey have been called “cancel culture” for not purveying propaganda that is often deceitful and sometimes consists of outright lies. All we can hope for is to encourage one another to continue the fight for truth and rationality and ignore unwarranted attacks and lies about what we believe.
Thank you for your eye opening blogs! I assumed all the quotes came from CK and have not had a chance to double check the quotes. It is a shame I assumed that CK could be as bad as DD.
I still haven’t had a chance to verify the quotes but having them all lined up like this helps clear things up for me while trying to figure out the real sticking points between Conservatives and Liberals…. I see no equality of people in these statements. I see no tolerance of differences or recognition that different cultures operate in different ways. The “traditional values” mentioned by Kirk is white males leading the country with women supporting their menfolk and females not taking any role in public life. We are long past that point unless we allow a handmaiden dystopian future. The current economy cannot exist without all genders being available to help in the workforce. It is a different world than the “traditional” one desired by conservatives.
Nepalese citizens just wrestled control from their politicians by creating videos juxtaposing one set of lifestyles (politicians) against the lifestyles of the citizens (have nots). Perhaps we should start putting videos together of what is being said by current politicians against what past politicians have said to help Americans remember and really understand what caring for one another in a democracy is supposed to be about?
