I recently completed the manuscript for what will eventually be about a 400-page book about child sex trafficking.
I suppose it would go without saying that part of the book deals with the Jeffrey Epstein matter, but by no means does it dominate the book; it’s just a small part. There are just too many tenacles to this horrific monster: the Roman Catholic Church, Protestant churches, cops, judges, elected officials and those group homes for so-called problem kids. The child sex trafficker knows no demographic.
The manuscript is currently undergoing final edits and should be available in the next three months or so.
BUT (there’s always a but), out there in the world of in-your-face politics, that Epstein matter just won’t go away and as crude as it may sound, Louisiana’s two U.S. senators have just gone on record as being at least tacitly complicit in the dirty business of child sex trafficking.
John Neely Kennedy and Dr. Bill Cassidy both VOTED TO TABLE Sen. Chuck Schumer’s amendment on Wednesday that would have forced the release of the Epstein files. The vote was 51-49. Had our two senators voted against the motion to table Schumer’s motion, the results would have been reversed.
Instead, both men, devoid of any courage or moral fiber, voted to support child sex trafficking on a grand scale. There’s no other way to say it.
They actually sided with the one person who is most desperate to keep those files hidden despite repeated promises in his campaign of full disclosure. There must be a reason for the secrecy now, and Kennedy and Cassidy voted to keep those records concealed, to abet a convicted felon.
Kennedy I can understand. He’s a coward through and through. At least Cassidy once summoned enough courage to vote to convict in Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial. That instantly cast Cassidy into the political trash bin with the MAGHATS. He’s history anyway now, so why not go out in a blaze of glory? Show some backbone. Be your own man. Don’t be Trump’s patsy when you know he’s not going to endorse you in next year’s election anyway. Why suck up now?

Kennedy, on the other hand, knows no other way to survive than to constantly kiss his master’s ring (mind you, I’m not saying which ring). He is scared to death of staking out his own position for fear of offending TACO Don. It’s that simple. That’s not courage, its cowardice.

But in the meantime, if you’ve ever had a child who was sexually molested or know someone who was, just know where our two U.S. senators stand on the issue.

The only thing Kennedy believes is that he is entitled to a taxpayer-funded job. He will do or say whatever gets him the votes and he has correctly identified a majority of Louisiana voters. He has also correctly determined that running as extreme as he can without getting into “Jewish space laser” territory is his best bet for staving off challengers and maybe earning a few morsels from Trump. Cassidy is drowning and grabbing at whatever he can reach. He can’t be saved. Neither has any real principles, no hill they’re willing to die on. What both have is wishes … ideals they wish they could live up to if only they had the courage.
Over the last few days I have called and emailed the US Congressmen from Louisiana as well as emailed our Louisiana representatives and senators, asking them where they stand on the Epstein issue; asking them to speak out; asking them to support the release of those files. Cassidy’s and Kennedy’s responses are now in the annals of history, so we now know where they stand. We’re seeing how our Louisiana legislators are standing. From our Louisiana legislators, I have not received ONE response from any one of them – not Democrats, not Republicans, not females, not males. I am at a loss for words. This is not a political issue. It is a right or wrong issue. A human safety, moral, religious, ethical issue – we either are against sexual violence towards anyone, in this instance, particularly young girls, or we are not and believe it to be okay. We are either for holding them all accountable (every last one of them) for their actions and now the coverup (hold them accountable too), or we support sex trafficking, sexual assault, sexual abuse, molestation of children, and those predators who engage in such activities. We cannot be both. Religious leaders, Christians, the Southern Baptist Convention should be shouting from the rooftops, enough is enough, release the files. Then again, the SBC covered up its own sins, so what do you say to that? Yet all we get is silence. Silence speaks volumes to me. It should speak volumes to all of us. What can you say or do if allegedly God-fearing men and women, believers in Jesus’ teaching, leaders in the community and government, sit and say nothing. Interestingly, I asked some of the interns answering the Washington phones about where their employer (Kennedy, Cassidy, Letlow) stands on sex trafficking, releasing the Epstein files, but was told they “cannot speak for him or her.” The intern/assistant apparently cannot say that their employee is against the sexual assault/victimization of children??? That speaks to me. We should not even have to ask. Apparently we cannot trust (of course, we cannot, based on what we are seeing now) that those we have voted into office in Congress, a person holding a position in our own state legislature, who are parents themselves, perhaps grandparents, siblings of victims of sexual abuse, victims themselves, or church leaders, are against such despicable, evil, traumatizing, life-changing behavior, particularly involving children. That is not something we can assume. I, for one, cannot, will not remain silent. Silly me, I always hope that there are those who will decide to stand up and speak out. Maybe I’ll suddenly have my in-box filled with responses saying we support releasing these Epstein files and support these victims. Maybe tomorrow.
