“I’m doing my job that I was elected to do.”
—U.S. Sen. David Vitter, explaining his refusal to engage traditional campaigning and his refusal to participate in debates with other candidates as he attempts to remain in Washington while allowing his Super PAC, The Fund for Louisiana’s Future, to purchase the governor’s election on his behalf.
“I have the job I want.”
—Bobby Jindal, on so many occasions during his first term that we all got sick of hearing it.

I saw my first toxic ad against John Bel Edwards just now. I am not sure who is taking credit for it but it clearly is a Vitter supporting PAC thing. It tries to tie JBE to President Obama in vile ways. As a White Louisiana Democrat, I think it is a mistake to run too far away from President Obama’s record. While he has been lied about and obstructed at every turn, he has brought American a long way back from where it was when he was elected. I also think Jindal made a huge mistake when he turned down the Extended Medicare for Louisiana. In other words, Democrats should stop being quiet about the good that has been done and start challenging the loud mouth Republicans about what they haven’t done.
Exactly right, Edith.
Edith,
I agree.
Instead of so many negative ads, Vitter should be telling us what he plans to do about all the problems in LA. If he is “doing the job he was elected to do”, he should be eager to inform the voters of the results of his doing so; and the benefits of that work for us here in LA.
Obama made health care available for all Americans but some will never know because their Republican governors have refused it. Why oh why do sensible people see health care as an evil? And why would anyone in Louisiana choose to vote for a candidate for governor who will follow in the footsteps of what we have suffered (read Jindal) for the last 8 years???
Vitter doing the job he’s been elected to do? My research hasn’t shown him to be an effective senator
Just saw this in Jeremy Alford’s email newsletter. It says the source of the video is “unknown”. Well kudos to unknown.
