Just a quick update to let readers know I haven’t gone anywhere.
Even though I’ve been immersed in wrapping up my book on the Bobby Jindal train wreck of an administration and his off the wall statements as he descends into obscurity in his quest for the presidency. One of the most absurd things he has said yet (there are so many, it’s difficult to rank them, but advocating elimination of the U.S. Supreme Court is right up there) was that he was “tanned, rested and ready.” He’s even selling T-shirts with that slogan on them—at twenty bucks a pop.
Did the man (or his advisers, Larry, Moe and Curly) even know that was the slogan adopted by the Young Republican national convention in 1987—in support of a 1988 Richard Nixon comeback?

Yes, the slogan was mostly facetious and coined as a form of protest to the choice of then-Vice President George H.W. Bush to succeed Ronald Reagan, but even so….
And who was assistant treasurer of the Young Republicans that year? Why, none other than Livingston Parish’s very own, Walker, Louisiana, chemical pesticide plant owner Rhett (“I kill bugs and beat Democrats”) Davis, former Executive Director of the Louisiana Republican Party, a delegate to the 2012 Republican National Convention, and a major state supporter of Rick Santorum in that same year.
As our friend C.B. Forgotston is so fond of saying, You just can’t make this stuff up.

You can’t rescue an idiot from being himself! And Jindal is definitely an idiot…He has to be the worst governor this state has ever had, and now they’re trying to push that adulterous fool Vitter down our throats, don’t, let them. We must elect John Bel Edwards to dave us.
I was wondering if anyone else remembered that…. 😉
That’s HILARIOUS! What a nimrod.
Thank you.
I thought that slogan sounded familiar…..and BIZARRE!
No way, no how. Facts. He has not shrank the budget, in fact it grew 9.4% ( Source Jindals own division of administration)
” We have more people working then at any time in our states history” He took office in 2008. LA’s unemployment rate was 4.3% This past may it was 6.6% ( US bureau of labor statistics)
He started with a 1 billion surplus …. and leaves a 1 billion plus bill to pay. “We’re going to end up placing fees and all kinds of things on ordinary citizens, just so” Jindal can say on the presidential campaign trail that he didn’t raise taxes. Jindal himself deplored such tactics as “using your credit card to pay your mortgage.” ( who is going to get stuck with that bill?) But what’s striking are the harsh critiques from fellow Republicans, who say Jindal’s presidential ambitions and frequent campaign trips outside of Louisiana have taken precedence over managing his home state’s economic affairs. “I’m hoping he will multitask and spend some of his time with us,” said state Treasurer John Kennedy, a Republican. “I’m a numbers guy. We have serious, serious problems with our budget. For seven years, we have spent more than we’ve taken in.”
Gutted higher education. Over the past six years, the cost of the six major programs examined by The Advocate ballooned by $650 million; meanwhile, state funding for colleges and universities was cut by almost the same amount, a decrease of 53 percent. The difference has been made up largely by tuition hikes paid by students.
But Jindal has done a number on health care for the poor too. He has largely privatized the state’s public hospitals, and refused as a matter of principle to take the federal Medicaid money due the state because of Obamacare. So now he can tell GOP primary voters nationwide that he stood up to Obamacare. In short to make a great sound bite this is what we now face. Services are now closed. There is now no emergency room in north Baton Rouge, where the majority of the city’s poor, uninsured people live. ( way to go bobby)
Just slammed the movie industry causing those jobs to head north to Georgia.
Imposed new draconian laws that go against the constitution.
This list goes on and on. We cant have this guy running the country. But, if its worth anything there is always the fact that Jindal cannot be held solely responsible; the state legislature, dominated by Republicans, has its hands dirty too.
Jindal is just as clueless as a presidential candidate as he was as governor.
What would Forrest Gump say about this? Hint: It has nothing to do with chocolates 🙂
While this isn’t directly related to this post, I propose that the book be titled: Only Ambition, How Bobby Jindal’s every action is determined based on how he thinks it will help his quest to be the President of the United States. Note that Only Ambition also implies the inverse: no smarts, no judgment, no job skills, no policy chops, no financial acumen, no people skills, no speaking skills, no gravitas, etc. Or in wonderful the Texas expression: jindal is all hat and no cattle.
Too bad our Leg. won’t do what NJ is trying to do – force their Gov. choose between being Gov and running for President.
