“Currently our 500 corps members work with nearly 45,000 students in the state of Louisiana. Our 1,000 alumni run schools, continue teaching in classrooms, are setting policy and otherwise influencing the debate for educational change in a positive direction.”

I have always wanted to see a breakdown of the number of TFAs who continue to work in the low income schools to which they were assigned after their 2 year commitment is up and how many go to the suburbs or selective schools.
The biggest tragedy of this is that JIndal’s staff will push for it and the legislature will think this grant is a good thing.
