Ain’t that the truth!!
That is the epitaph for the former Republican party, but it might also be the epitaph for our nation if we let it continue.
I suspect it is NOT Trump voters who do not understand the terms as it is not the Trump voters calling people Nazis or Gestapo or Fascists. And NONE of those exist currently in the USA. However, there are elements of socialism peeking out; NYC, AOC, Bernie, The Squad etc.
My God, Zoe, have you even been watching anything but Fox, or are you just in denial? Of course the Trump voters don’t comprehend the terms and it certainly is the Trumpers who sling the terms Nazi and Gestapo and Fascists around. I know, because I’ve been called everything from a Nazi to a communist by people who blindly follow TACO Don buthave no idea there’s a difference between socialism, communism and nazism.
To illustrate the mentality, I once polled Trump supporters at a restaurant in Denham Springs by asking them how they felt about Biden’s efforts to require that we use the Arabic numbering system. I had people tell me with a straight face, “If Biden’s for it, I’m against it.” I heard a woman who, upon finding the post office closed on Columbus Day a couple of years ago, say disgustedly, “Thank you, Mr. Biden” I tried to tell her that Columbus Day has been a federal holiday since Moby Dick was a guppy – it was made an official holiday by Eisenhower, by the way. She didn’t appreciate my gentle reminder.
I’m not sure how old you are, Zoe (you, for some reason, refuse to use your real name), but if you accept social security, you’re participating in socialism. Did you receive one or more stimulus checks during the pandemic? Socialism! Have you ever called a cop or a fire department? Do you have garbage pickup, sewer service or drive on public streets. Did you attend a public school and use state-provided textbooks or eat a state-subsidized school lunch? These are all “social” services. Those liberal socialists are responsible for your having a 40-hour work week, paid vacation, sick leave, insurance, minimum wage, safe food to eat AND the right to vote.

Correct. That was the whole point of my unofficial “poll” – to show how narrow-minded people were. They opposed the concept without ever stopping to consider the actual question. It was astounding to see how many people opposed the idea simply because I said it was from Biden.
Every single day Trump calls Democrats and others who oppose him “radical leftists, communists, fascists, Marxists, and evil people.” Every day, Zoe. Every single day. And Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric is repeated endlessly in the echo chamber of propaganda sources MAGA fascists consume. Stop with the pretense MAGA is pure. It fools no one, not even you. MAGA is fascist by any definition of fascism and MAGA fascists who don’t know they’re fascists are just ignorant MAGA fascists.
