Trump’s fawning red-carpet treatment gave Putin exactly what he wanted – the stature of respected world leader and legitimization of his policies. Putin gave Trump and the United States a healthy dose of embarrassment, and gave Ukraine nothing. Then, to rub in Trump’s humiliation Russia launches ballistic missiles at Ukraine 24 hours later in the continuation of a war Trump said he could end in a day. And, just in case it wasn’t noticed, Trump sided with Putin once again against our own intelligence agencies to promote the lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him. Meanwhile his wannabe Fourth Reich and all the MAGA cowards in Congress are trying to rewrite history into a phony narrative that exonerates Putin and Trump in order to blame other Americans Trump and MAGA absolutely despise and want to punish so bad they can taste it. Personally I can’t wait to hear how the Clinton/Obama cabal framed Trump into inviting the Russians to hack the Clinton campaign on national television and then framed Trump into taking secret meetings in Trump Tower with Russian nationals promising dirt on Clinton. But whatever lie they invent will be swallowed whole by 75 million stupid fascists because the only thing they believe in is that they are entitled to wallow in their prejudices and they only thing they care about is owning the libtards. As long as Trump gives them that he can do no wrong and is perfect in every way.

Where were you guys when Obama told Putin he would not accept any aggression and Putin took Crimea? Where were you guys when Biden said, “it depends on how much territory Putin takes” before Putin invaded. Neither of those “leaders” did a damn thing.
How about Obama (on a hot mike) telling Russian diplomat “I will have more flexibility after the election:?!? And you criticize Trump for actually meeting with Putin when afore mentioned “leaders” would not?
Ukraine has been the beneficiary of over $200 Billion in U S aid alone. Zero accountability for the spending. How much went back to Congressmen/Senators (from BOTH parties)?
Ukraine is NOT our ally; we have no treaty with them, nor are they a member of NATO.
And going “back to the United States” is hardly any worse than Obama “It is wonderful to be back in Oregon. Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states. I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii”!!!

Where did I say that Tom? Russia has been a dreadful country since the overthrow of the Czars (Tsars), and it was a poorly run country then as well.
Are you saying Ukraine is our ally and do you condone spending hundreds of billions in a country where we have no business when we have homeless and hungry/disabled people in the USA? Are you asking for WWIII with the only country in the world with similar nuclear power for destruction as us?

Your original comment criticizes Obama and Biden for doing nothing, saying “neither of those ‘leaders’ did a damn thing.” Your reply to Tom criticizes the US’s current support of Ukraine as “asking for WWIII.” So you are critical of doing nothing and critical of doing something depending on which side of the argument you need to wallow in your prejudices and conspiracy theories. C’mon Zoe. That’s too easy. If you want to play you’ll have to up your game.
Paul, yes, I did indeed say that both Obama and Biden did zip as far as dealing with dictators and you can easily verify that, but as a Democrat you probably will not. Recall Syria. Recall Russia. Obama did not press the issue (“Draw a line in the sand”) I believe he said. Assad laughed at him and gassed his people. Then Obama told Russia to leave Ukraine alone and Putin then took Crimea. I already quoted Biden above. If you watched the news today where world leaders met in Washington, and 100% of then stated Biden did nothing to help stop the situation in Ukraine and were glad Trump was forcing the issue.
War is NOT the only way to punish these dictators; economics will do what is necessary. You may recall that the Russian ruble dropped to zero (when Trump was in office) due to economic sanctions. Biden reversed that and gave billions to Russia (and Iraq – so did Obama) to build pipelines to Europe. Trump will implement harsh sanctions; he already has as he took the business from Russia who was selling energy to India.
Your logic eludes me as you cannot see anything but war as a solution. There are clearly more options than war. Clearly, giving offensive weapons to Ukraine enables them to attack Russia which encourages Putin to up his game (nuclear offense) which in turn would make us do the same, and there are no winners then.
It is NOT I who “wallows in my prejudice”. I am not the conspiracy theorist as I have suggested none. And it is NOT I who has to up his game, for it is not I with prejudices or conspiracy (ever watch Rachel Maddow for example; that is non-stop conspiracy suppositions which are virtually 100% untrue).
I am not an apologist for anyone, including Trump. He clearly has personal issues (just like Obama, Biden, Bush(s), Clinton, LBJ, Nixon, Carter etc.) I do not sink to name calling or insulting via false implication (example; Trump on a leash held by Putin when it is Trump killing his economy). Or Tom implying that to disagree with him means I side with Russia. I clearly do not.
This is either an open forum, or not. If one is disparaged every time they disagree, it hardly screams for honesty.
Evidentially, some people refuse to have their opinions questioned or disagreed with. Personally, I followed Tom years ago because of his expose’ of political corruption in Louisiana. Not one-sided reporting.
It’s an open forum but if you want to avoid being “disparaged” it helps to have a strong argument, which you do not. Wondering how many in Washington are skimming off the top of Ukraine aid is a conspiracy theory. So yes, you have suggested one. Your summary of Obama’s and Biden’s action is woefully incomplete and missing context. Your comments on the ruble and sanctions on Russia are just wrong. The ruble hit it’s lowest point immediately following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and following sanctions by the Biden administration, not Trump. Nor can any sanction by the Trump administration hurt Putin more than he gained from Trump with the red-carpet treatment and once again siding with Putin publicly over our own intelligence agencies. That’s worth more than gold to Putin. You are clearly anti-Democrat/liberal and that, by itself, is perfectly fine. But today there is only one alternative to Democrats/liberals and that’s MAGA fascism. Defending MAGA fascism with a “whatabout the Democrats” type argument doesn’t distinguish your politics from MAGA fascism in any way. And fascism is NOT perfectly fine, NOT legitimate, NOT worth debating, and has NO FORUM unopposed for spreading its ignorance and hate.
