During the late 90s and the early 2000s I used to say that I consistently underestimated the “Republican” party. I recall Bush campaigning for tax cuts because he said the economy was doing so well and then after the dot com bubble burst campaigning for tax cuts because he said the economy was on the slide. But, of course, that polar opposite reasoning didn’t even cause a hiccup on the right. I thought the absence of WMDs in Iraq would put an end to their alternate realties. Fat chance, huh? Then came death panels and I thought now they’ve gone too far. Something that stupid is bound to be the wake-up call for most “Republicans.” But, alas, they all bought it like cheap gas. After that, I stopped being surprised at anything that came from an intellectually dishonest right. Nothing – absolutely nothing – that has happened in the last fifteen years gives me any reason whatsoever to take the political right seriously. Oh, I understand they’re are milions of them and that’s a huge problem. But they have forfeited the right to matter. Their arguments have zero legitimacy because their reasoning is based on things like “illegal immigrants eating cats and dogs” in Ohio, for which they have no evidence nor even a desire for evidence. But I don’t know what to do with people who are so willing and so eager to sell out their fellow citizens. I just know I can’t be surprised by the depths of their utter bankrupcty ever again.
Excellent response. However, they ae not “bankrupt”, money wise, and yes they will sell out any soul for a buck. I submit the Project 2025 bullshit is to make sure they get rid of Trump and then take credit for saving the Nation. My old friend and dear mentor Al O’Brien, C130 pilot, about 6-7 years ago, said it best,”I will never trust any Republican again. ” We must continue “taking the high road” and not become THEM. Keep learning and Keep loving. ron thompson
Why does this comment trigger the liberals so badly? His comments were literally taken out of the news.
No such thing. It was not “literally” on the news. The story originated on Facebook. I don’t call Facebook “the news” any more than you would call a tricycle a Rolls-Royce. Here’s the link:

Here’s another:

And another:

Quit getting your “literal news” from the Internet.
Liberals are “triggered” by those comments because they don’t believe anyone should be the target of hateful, racist lies told by hateful, racist liars in the naked pursuit of power over principle. I know thinking of anyone other than yourself is a foreign concept for MAGA but liberals are weird that way.
