Someone (and we are not pointing fingers at anyone—yet) has attempted to plant a computer virus on the LouisianaVoice web page which, once you log onto our site, first gives you a virus message, locks you out of the site and then gives you a message that the site cannot be found whenever you attempt to log back on.
We first got the warning from one of our readers earlier today and when we tried to log on a couple of hours later, we got a virus warning. Once we closed the page, we found that we were unable to log back on and we received the “site not found” message.
We solved the problem by re-booting (logging off our computer and then logging back on) and found that the problem was solved.
Should you experience the same problem, simply re-boot your computer and you should be able to access LouisianaVoice without any further problems.
As we said, we are not pointing fingers at anyone, but we will say this much:
Last year, when we were writing a series of stories about the shenanigans of Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control Director Troy Hebert, we were told by one of his agents that Hebert had boasted that it would be a simple matter for him to have his IT people to hack into our computer.
We made a direct email inquiry of Hebert as to the veracity of that report. More than a year later, we are still awaiting his response.
Again, we’re not point fingers. We’re just saying….

Too much HEAT !! You know the old saying … Thankfully only =<18 months but ohwhat damage can be inflicted in that amount of time !!
Imagine that! He still has his the same IT guy! Hebert just had to give this person a different title since he is not supposed to have an “IT” position! That position is director over the business division which this “IT” person does not qualify for. Somebody else runs the business division while this person continues to do Hebert’s dirty IT work!
Keep up the good work, back when i worked on the carolina plain dealer, 70-72 the man would arrest us every issue…cost 150$ to put the paper out and $thousands every month in legal fees… too bad you aren’t in with the tea baggers you could cry about it… your big fan and not a relative
also aswell
It’s a perverse form of admiration Tom! You’re effective and too important to the citizens of Louisiana and these scoundrels know it! Thank you!
You must be giving them headaches…………KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
IT Kristallnacht?
They must be getting too close for comfort for the powers that be.
Least we forget!
Mr. Hebert should be wary. Lee Zurik sure seems to be following up LA Voice stories mighty closely these days.
Do these minions to the likes of Little Troy understand just how quickly they will be thrown under the bus when their supposed “favored status” is exposed?
Tom, Keep giving ’em hell!
Mr. Aswell, I’d say that you’re their worst nightmare! Keep up the good work! You are a jewel in social media! One day your hard work will pay off!!
Thank you. Yes, since the DHH piece on attorneys (which was impeccably timed by the way; myself and a regional DHH attorney over 22 parishes, who avoids the BR DHH attorneys as much as possible. as they haven’t a clue as to what they are doing) were in Baton Rouge for a state attorney meeting called together by Kim. Two of us, both Louisiana Voice readers have experienced significant computer issues. I opened and read the Louisiana Voice to him the eve of the DHH legal meeting. Not a word was spoken at their meeting the following day in regards to the topic. However, tenured attorneys came out of “disgust mode” long enough to email/text each other before/during/after the meeting to place the unspoken facts about this matter like they do with all other crises that require resolve. Well, exception, Weldon did not partake.
DHH of Louisiana, let’s just say “worse than check out at WalMart.”
Keep up the good work, Tom. Oh, and our computers are recovered!
Troy Hebert of the LA ATC must comply with LA RS:26, right? This article leads me to question if the ATC Commissioner may be abusing state resources? If true, isn’t this unlawful? Is Lee Zurik really investigating this matter for the media? If so, I am happy to add the issues I’ve experienced while attempting to obtain a state liquor permit. http://www.louisianaweekly.com/retired-army-major-fights-property-discrimination-case/

I’m almost certain Jacqueline Wilson now works for ATC!
…and who is Jacqueline Wilson?
Weird. Our office servers got the herp too. I wonder if there is a connection? 😉
