Bobby Jindal the Petulant Paranoid has teagued yet another high-ranking state official, LouisianaVoice has learned.
This time the victim is said to have been only a few months from retirement.
The governor who publicly advocates openness, accountability and transparency everywhere in the U.S. except Louisiana, has shown on repeated occasions that he cannot stomach any difference of opinion among state employees at any level, classified or unclassified—or even from legislators.
His paranoia rose (or sank, depending upon one’s preferred descriptive verb) to a new level on Thursday, however, when he fired Gary Crockett, former administrator at Huey P. Long Medical Center in Pineville just two days after the House Health and Welfare Committee voted 10-8 to close the facility.
Crockett last year tried to keep administration-ordered layoffs at the hospital to a minimum but was forced to make deep cuts in personnel.
The irony of Jindal’s ongoing purge, aka dissident cleansing is that Crockett had already left his $144,650-a-year position at Huey P. Long because of his differences with the administration. He took a position at another state medical facility where he thought—incorrectly, it turns out—he could ride out the rest of his career..
Word out of the State Capitol is that Jindal felt that Crockett may have been providing information to legislators opposed to the closure of the hospital as part of Jindal’s flawed state hospital privatization plan that less than a week ago was shot down by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services because of the creative but prohibited method of financing the privatization plans.
The federal action threw the state budget into chaos literally only days before the budget was to go to the House for debate on Thursday (today, May 8) because of a $400 million hole it blew in the state spending document.
Without going into specific names, suffice it to say that heads roll whenever a discouraging word is heard in Jindal’s presence and now the latest is what is becoming a very long line of teagueites, so named in honor of former Office of Group Benefits Director Tommy Teague, fired on April 15, 2011, and his wife Melody, fired about six months earlier as a grants reviewer but later reinstated.
One recent Teagueite, a friend of Crockett who must remain nameless, said of Jindal’s latest action, “There’s no other way to say it except to say the man is evil.”
Attempts by LouisianaVoice to reach Crockett Thursday for comment were unsuccessful.

Tom for several years you along with many others have told of the spiteful vengefulness of jindal now some are finding out too late to save themslf from his evilness. They should have been reading your blog way back when. Oh well, he loves to repeat himself, so who’s next???
Evil is an inadequate word. Try satanic. Now what needs to happen is for all the “teagites” to unite to have Jindal removed from office immediately, preferably with some charges that will send him for a visit to the federal pen and certainly one that will save America from his national ambitions. Surely these people were in high enough places to influence the Legislature. I think we owe it to our nation to politically neuter Bobby Jindal as well as send out a warning and an instructional plan to other dictators of his ilk in other states. Maybe Louisiana can climb to the top of at least one good list.
There is an ancient proverb that goes something like this:
“If you sit by the river long enough, you will see the body of your enemy float by”
May we all live to see Jindal’s body float by the Capitol in the Mississippi.
Interestingly, EWE uses this quote quite often.
I’ve said it before but it bears repeating: Way back when Pee-Yoosh assisted with that shade tree exorcism, that old demon jumped. It had to go somewhere and what better home than a body with no heart or soul? Look no further than Lord Jindal to find where IT resides. His amateur bungling of a religious rite has resulted in unexpected power and fortune in return for sacrificing our state to his greedy master. America Next? He IS the face of evil.
I have known and worked with Gary for over 20 years. Gary is intelligent, kind, caring, and a great leader. His loyalty has always been to his community, even when this loyalty would put him at odds with the LSU Hierarchy and/or the Governor’s Administration. Throughout the years, local legislators understood his value and were able to protect him from retaliation. However, this governor is like no other governor we have served under. By this termination, Jindal knows he hasn’t prevented Gary from continuing to provide information and advice to local legislators. This termination serves another purpose. Jindal’s intent is to not only punish Gary for opposing his will, but more so, to send a message to other state employees. And that message is this, “If you anger the governor, you will be fired, and NO ONE can protect you!” I haven’t spoken to Gary since before his termination, but if he reads this post, I would like him to know he is in my prayers and that God has something better for him to do now.
Pat Robinson MD
My question is who in his or her right mind could possibly want to serve under a Jindal administration?
Oh your run of the mill sycophants and boot-lickers come to mind.
Those of us who served were serving before Jindal came into power, but even after he took office, foolishly we believed we could make a difference. Jindal reminds me of the Wizard of Oz and one day when the curtain is finally pulled back, we will all find a scared little man whose persona existed only as an illusion.
There are still a few people, like Dr. Robinson, who have altruistic reasons for staying. Let’s face it, most others stay for the money and benefits. State salaries have become very competitive and the retirement benefits still exceed those of most in the private sector. Upper management level people stay for the power. Never have people close to the governor had more power as long as it is wielded in lock-step with the governor’s policies. I haven’t seen turnover data lately, but I suspect the rates are still high for low ranking positions.
I agree with Stephen. There are those that are still there for the right reasons. When I was terminated in December of 2011 as CEO of the LSU Hospital in Lake Charles, I was terribly confused. Rumors were rampant, but I was given no reason for my termination, until almost a month later when one of the Local Legislators told me he knew for a fact the order came “from above” those in charge at LSU. I shared that information with one of my LSU Bosses and told him I was going to confront then Secretary of DHH, Bruce Greenstein. He told me I shouldn’t. His exact words were, “Pat, you don’t know how far this Administration will go or what they are capable of.” My former boss was correct, I didn’t know what the Jindal Administration was capable of and I am surprised at least once a week when I read articles and commentaries about the doings of Bobby Jindal. As for me, I have moved on to the next chapter in my life. Two weeks after my termination, my blood pressure dropped 20 points and I now know what it is like to share something with all of you I didn’t have before. That something is the Freedom of Speech and IT FEELS GOOD!!
L’il booby is only doing the bidding of his GOP puppet masters. To booby there is only one agenda that matters and it’s not the people or the State of Louisiana. It’s his real bible, the ALEC agenda. Too much complaining about booby and not enough tying him and the repub party together. You can find a ton of articles about his behavior but not many pointing out who pulls his strings. Until it’s made abundantly clear, the WHY of his behavior, the people will continue to vote against there own interest with misplaced anger.
on a brighter note: kristy nichols assures legislators that many millions of additional revenues will be had by confiscating loose change found under cushions of state employee chairs( after first 10% to mr benson, of course)
Great report and great comments! Watch closely the attack on Gen Shinseky at DVA before GOP House evils this week. Jindal and GOP will do anything to attack the President, including warping any piece of information and then completely lie about it. Benghazi, IRS, these guys are using our tax money to promote themselves .Jindal and Teepell are amoral and very dangerous to our Democracy. They are after the big book of business, that is, the tax money going to the VA which they feel, should go to corporate America.ronthompson
