LouisianaVoice is kicking off a weeklong experiment. We are asking readers to contribute one or two lines to a poem about Gov. Piyush Jindal. It doesn’t have to be a complete poem (although it can be); it can be as few as two lines with the next contributor trying to finish the verse.
We ask that any contribution be no longer than four or five lines like the limerick below. Writers may employ any meter they wish.
Submissions containing profanity or vulgarities will be deleted.
There once was a governor named Jindal;
The state’s retirement he tried to swindle.
He sold out to FARA,
And rolled over Tara,
But then his stock began to dwindle.
Let’s see how creative our readers are.

No poetry, but a few bumper stickers……
Presidente Piyush
La. Outsourced, USA next…..
Louisiana Legislature
Property of ALEC
There was a small Raja named Bobby,
Who played his own like a hobby,
But his ego undid him, as Romney forbid him,
And sent him to wait in the lobby.
Okay, great idea. So we will accept suggestions for bumper stickers as well.
Editor
The lackeys that surround Bobby Jindal
Make him resemble a gimbal
They swing and they sway
All through the day
While his lies and deceit keep him nimble.
A Republican Darling,
A National Contender,
The ALEC Puppet
Put Employee Rights in the Blender.
Laws and Rights were chopped and diced,
Legislators jowls licked clean.
Bills sprinkled with local PORK,
Politics most obscene.
There once was a crooked politician,
With soft legislators upholding his position.
Death to education he sought,
With plenty votes he had bought,
‘Til the leges showed total submission.
Oh Louisiana, a fledgling pelican
Has been Piyushed from your mighty nest.
But do not fret,
He has been Fostered oh so well,
And thus began such a quest,
A pretend southern fledgling from the nest
He fast talks a chippering jibberish,
to those, in whom he invests.
Tweet, Tweet,
Tweetie bird in disguise,
We’ll call him Bobby,
and say he’s not snobby,
Every word he rattles, oh so wise.
Not to let anything cause him demise,
There are invested friends
With whom he flies.
Chuck-Chuck, Chuck-Chuck, he chirps,
as he looks for a convenience
store roof top on which to perch.
From these high vantage points,
he rules, where no other shall perch,
Dare not to sit on his stoop,
For he shall forever rein down his poop,
Soar to the heavens, he just may,
as a companion to an eagle
if he has just his way.
A blessing,
Although, in disguise,
tweety would be,
To all in this great land,
his followers would say,
A delight to PACs or flocks of fluffed friends,
A hymn so pretty they would chipper,
But To our own demise, we would eventually whimper.

God bless us all,
SAVE US from this slacker,
At some point tweety will be known as a quakker.
There once was a governor who told so many lies,
He spent his days firing those who dared to criticize.
He was giving taxpayer money away,
While blaming state workers and teacher’s pay.
Jindal showed the people such indignation,
They now call for his resignation.
We ask the Republicans to listen to our voice,
And make him Romney’s vice-presidential choice.
Please take him we all say in distress,
So we can begin to clean up this mess.
There once was a boy named Bobby Jin,
That made all in the state long for someone else to win,
a self-proclaimed crook is better,
Obama please pardon Edwards!
A smart and caring man, he seemed.
Now we all know he’s running a ponzi scheme
Steals from the middle class to make his friends winners
And if you protest, he’ll have you for dinner!
So … no rhyming ALEC and phallic?
Once was a boy named Bobby
For campaign funds he loved to lobby,
He cherished corporate tax cuts
And destroying legislators with guts,
Don’t say what you believe
Or Piyush will give you the heave,
Please BJ just move to Washington ,or Virginia just leave
Piyash is a name to remember
You just want to give him the finger
He claimed he was great
But all he did was hate
The people whose lives he dismembered
I don’t know any other four letter words
And then there was his veto of bills
That gave loyal supporters the chills
Juban Crossing got wacked
And Cynthia Bridges got smacked
While a national push card he builds
There once was a governor named Jindal
The people of his state he did swindle.
The citizens of the state did he deceive
As their tax dollars he did thieve.
He served up taxpayer money on a platter
The consequences to the state didn’t matter.
To big business the money did go
On Jindal much support did they bestow.
Yes, ALEC bought Jindal and now he works for them
For this he should be condemned.
Using his office to enrich his career
He would do anything to domineer.
His legislature was subservient and compliant
Instead of serving the people, they yielded to the tyrant.
For disagreement with the governor’s agenda was not accepted
Otherwise from their posts they would be ejected.
ALEC sponsored bills through the legislature did go
Like poop through a goose did they flow.
The order from ALEC was to privatize
The people of the state did they victimize.
Jobs and careers of public servants they did take
Leaving devastation and despair in their wake.
But that’s not all! The cost to the taxpayer will be great
Due to privatization of public services in our state.
Decreased quality and increase cost can be expected
As the interests of big business, not the taxpayer, are protected.
Can the damage Jindal has done ever be reversed?
This governor has been our worst.
For government-for-profit is Jindal’s policy
Without accountability, transparency or honesty.
How can we survive another three years of this?
Jindal’s brand of government really is the pits.
If I knew how to “provide” rather than “teach,”
Uncredentialed success I could reach.
But, alas, I’m too “schooled”
And the Guv’nah can’t be fooled
‘Cause I’m BSed, MEdeed and PhDeed.
