“Jindal has done nothing in seven years. It’s time the Legislature re-asserted itself as an equal partner in governing this state.”
—State Rep. Jerome “Dee” Richard (I-Thibodaux), in discussing bills he plans to pre-file for the 2015 legislative session that begins on April 13.

State representative Richard is absolutely correct. For instance, one would conclude governor Jindal has actually accomplished something positive when reading headlines around here. Below is an example
Letter: Jindal abandons Louisiana for personal political ambitions
State Rep. Jerome “Dee” Richard should also introduce legislation to disallow non property owners from voting a tax on property owners, if he wants to exclude homestead exemption. So many of the taxes on property owners are placed there by those who own no property . They are happy to place a tax on others that they dont ‘have to pay, but get the benefits of the revenue.
It’s funny that it takes 7 years to figure out jindal while state employees and louisianavoice figured jindal out over 5 years ago. Seems legislatures are a little slow but we’ll give them one more chance to straighten out this mess. No straighten no more needed!!
