“(He is) not worthy of serving the people of this state.”
—Sen. Karen Carter Peterson, D-Baton Rouge, in voting not to confirm Bruce Greenstein as Secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals on June 22, 2011.
“He will do a great job.”
—Sen. Jack Donahue, R-Mandeville, in voting to confirm Greenstein.
“I don’t believe the secretary participated in actions that influenced the outcome (of the awarding of a $185 million contract to Greenstein’s former employer, CNSI).”
—Former Sen. Lydia Jackson, D-Shreveport, in voting in favor of confirming Greenstein.
“Mr. Greenstein was very involved in the process (of selecting CNSI).”
—Former Sen. Rob Marionneaux, D-Livonia, in voting not to confirm.
“This is not a ceremonial committee. We will be watching very closely. If things go awry, we will be the first to speak up.”
—Sen. Dan Claitor, R-Baton Rouge, in voting to confirm Greenstein.
So much for claitor, still waiting for him to “speak up” or speak down to the people.
All who voted for confirmation should be forced to resign.
Wonder if any of the legislators who aligned with BJ in confirming BG had been invited to
accompany the gov on one of his “fishing” trips?
Fishing trips ??? One would think BJ could not possibly think of Louisiana as a “Sportsman’s Paradise”. Hard to believe he enioys anything like a fishing trip in “our” beautiful State. Perhaps that is when he does his best thinking on what he could do next to cause chaos. Why is our legislature tolerating him?
Oh there was at least one… my rep was present!
Does BJ even know how to fish?
Karen Carter Peterson is my hero. She should be governor. She always is right on target. So smart and has the guts to say it like it is and challenge the endless bull and ignorance that passes for government in this state. She never loses sight of the point and focuses on serving the needs of our citizens.
