“In picking Ryan, Romney bypassed…Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Officials said he (Romney) had called to notify all five of them of his decision. Pawlenty received a call Monday evening, the day after Ryan accepted, while the other four were all notified on Friday, just hours before the announcement.”
–Associated Press report that indicated that Piyush Jindal was not among Romney’s top six considerations for vice president and was apparently so low down on the list (apparently not on the short list at all) as to warrant not even so much as a phone call from Romney.
“The choice of Congressman Ryan will bring needed definition to the Romney message but cutting taxes for the top 2 percent by curbing middle class bendfits is going to be a hard sell.”
–U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, on the selecton of Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney’s vice presidential running mate.
So why has Pyush been running around the country wasting state money campaigning for Romney and holding expensive luncheons if he was not even on the short list. Is he angling for a Cabinet post. Of course I am pretty sure he wanted to be out of state for the beginning of his latest step in the destruction of the public schools and the outsourcing of the retirement system. The man needs to be removed from office posthaste.
BJ has probably been simply duped by the RMoney campaign into thinking he had a VP chance, because that’s how these types roll — you know, they dangle a pretend carrot just so the campaign can get free support from LA citizens. We pay the governor and his entourage to stay on the RMoney campaign trail, going after that carrot. And now he will probably continue to do so all they way to November, hoping for at least a cabinet appointment. Unfortunately, most people I know are also duped by the Republican machine, and would be only too happy to take funds away from environmental protection or the needy or elderly just to offer what amounts to pennies to these spoiled little rich clowns.
