We have truly descended into the nadir of third-world status.
The video that depicted Donald Trump shooting, stabbing and clubbing Democrats, the late John McCain, and members of the media inside a church is at once incredibly disturbing, warped and dangerous.
The fact that (a) it was shown at the conservative American Priority Festival and Conference at which Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Donald Trump, Jr., were scheduled to appear, (b) Trump has yet to condemn the video and in fact, (c) the creator of MemeWorld, the website for which the video was produced, was an Oval Office guest in July when Trump referred to him as a “genius” only serves to underscore the ominously repulsive nature of the video.
Even worse, it shows that Trump and his supporters have thrown all restraint and socially-acceptable norms out the window. But then, they did that that long ago—like the day he rode down that escalator at Trump Tower in 2015.
Worse yet, this will no doubt serve as inspiration for some nut job to take it upon himself to act out his own fantasies and when some reporter or political enemy is killed, Trump and his supporters will, by their tacit approval of the video, demonstrated by their deafening silence, have blood on their hands.
Don’t think that will happen? Well, let’s rewind the tape to 2017 when Herr Trump tweeted that video of him taking down a CNN REPORTER in a WrestleMania event. A year later, 13 pipe bombs were mailed to CNN, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, former CIA Director John Brennan, actor Robert DeNiro, and others perceived as opponents of Trump. CESAR SAYOC was subsequently sentenced to prison for those mailings.
The showing of that video is one of those things that makes me want to look the perpetrator in the eye and ask, “What were you thinking?” It showed about as much forethought as the guy I read about who tried to rob a bank at a drive-up window (bullet-proof glass, by the way). The teller, upon reading the note from the would-be robber, flipped it over and wrote, “I don’t see a gun.” The man obligingly placed his gun in the drawer and sent it in to the teller—action that can only attributed to gross stupidity.
The White House has attempted to distance itself from the video but we’ve heard nothing from Trump himself. Nil. Nada. Zilch.
Of course, he will be interjecting himself into our general election for governor, stumping for the Republican candidate over Democrat Governor John Bel Edwards. On that we can rest assured. One businessman with six bankruptcies and several loan defaults on his record campaigning for another businessman. Perfect.
Trump’s devout supporters will no doubt come to his defense as they always do. But now they will be defending the indefensible. They will say the video won’t incite violence, but because it’s impossible to prove a negative, only time will tell.
But even if it doesn’t, the question remains: why in the world was that video ever shown—or even produced—in the first place? What message was it trying to convey? It certainly wasn’t the Christian Values the evangelicals seem to have bestowed upon this president. It couldn’t be a message on behalf of free market capitalism. Nor could it serve as a message endorsing border security. Or peace. Or trade wars. Or the virtues of being an American patriot.
And it certainly couldn’t have been a message to show Trump’s courage.
He is, after all, the one who got five medical deferrals for bone spurs that kept him out of the military during the Vietnam War.
Now do you believe that trump and his cult following are, as Hillary branded them, “DEPLORABLES”?
Although we have no proof that this vile video was created by or at the behest of the administration, trump’s vile behavior and rhetoric are the direct cause. Every day brings new and more and more appalling revelations of vicious, insane, traitorous activities and behavior by trump and his inner circle. Many of his minions have sold their souls to this devil, with so-called attorney general Barr promoting theocracy and traveling the world to coerce foreign governments to interfere with our electoral process and scrub Putin’s role in the 2016 election regaled in the Mueller report. We are all in danger if this goes much further, with the first casualty of trumpism being the Constitution.
I am a “deplorable”. I voted for Donald Trump, and I support his non-globalist policies. I support limiting the unchecked flow of illegals at our borders, and also support the rejection of socialist ideals on our nation. For all the ruckus regarding Ukraine, simply look at just who really benefitted in that country.(Hunter Biden). Stir up some dust on some compilation video done by some students if you want…but if the President is impeachable, then why hasn’t Pelosi called for an actual impeachment enquiry instad of all this posturing. And by the way, make sure you offer this fool some money to run this website, as his “theories” are even less plausible than the mainstream media, therefore hillarious! #MAGA2020
First of all, punctuation goes inside quote marks. You should’ve learned that in 8th grade English. Second, if you can look the other way when this president mocks a handicapped reporter, you’re no Christian. If you can laugh when he calls on his crowd of thugs to beat up a reporter, you’re a thug yourself. If you can condone his boasting of grabbing women, you’re a lowlife yourself. If you can justify his erratic behavior and his constant flip-flopping, your just as unstable as he. If you can support abandoning our allies while embracing people like Kim, Putin and Assad as your version of supporting “non-globalist polices,” then you’re an ignorant ass. If you can excuse his embarrassing violation of every societal norm just because you voted for him, then there’s no hope for you—or for this country.
And just what are those policies? They seem to change from day to day, so I would imagine it would be difficult to accurately describe any of his policies. The only “policy” on which he has been consistent is his wall—painted black, electrified, with body-piercing points, surrounded by a snake- and alligator-filled moat. So, please, let us know what his “policies” are, other than nuking hurricanes and Sharpie-edited hurricane warnings (we already know about those).
Dude, you need to bone up on current events. An impeachment inquiry (note the correct spelling) is precisely what Pelosi did call for and that is what is taking place now. You are probably referring to an impeachment vote by the House, which has not been called for yet. Still, you need to get your facts straight before putting your thoughts out there for others to see.
Hilarious you don’t mention the constant death threats to Trump by Lefties, NYT sponsoring of a play depicting our Pres getting stabbed on stage, effigies of Trump dolls being lynched or stabbed by Lefty protestors, beheading of him by a comedian, but here you are on a soapbox months later about one video. It’s not “what aboutism.” What we are really saying is stop being hypocritical and expressing faux outrage while your side is commiting violent felonies on conservative protestors.
Comedian Kathy Griffin’s career tanked after she posed with the mock head of Trump—as it should have. There’s no place for either of those. As for the NYT sponsoring such a play, I’ve not heard of it nor could I call it up by googling it. Can you provide a link?
