“We’re taking money away from the disabled community and giving it to motor sports?”
—State Sen. Dan Claitor (R-Baton Rouge), questioning the transfer of $4.5 million for the developmentally disabled to fund repairs to an auto race track in Jefferson Parish.
“The answer to your question, Sen. Claitor, is ‘yes.’ All right, any other questions?”
—State Sen. Jack Donahue (R-Mandeville), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, in his response to shut down discussion of the move and to silence Claitor.
Other than graft, what possible explanation is there for this action? Please tell me there is more to this story.
Senator Claitor – stand your ground. Stand your ground. While there is a special place in hell for Jindal and his minions, there is a special place in heaven for people like you who try to do the right thing.
These elected officials’ bread is buttered by big money kickbacks. The less fortunate are easy to be push on the side even if it’s their mother. No kickback from those who vote because with Republicans, there is no government for the people.
