Those of us who choose to remember rather than fantasize will recall how Donald Trump, aka Predator-in-Chief (PIC) promised in his 2016 and 2024 campaigns to:
- Release his federal income tax records.
- Release the Epstein files.
- Completely wipe out the federal debt;
- End the war in Ukraine “within 24 hours.”
- Involve the U.S. in “no new wars.”
- Be “too busy to play golf” (after he spent the entire 2016 campaign criticizing Barack Obama for playing too much golf).
- Give each American $5,000 from the DOGE savings.
- Give each American $2,000 from his tariffs.
- Give each American $1,700 in tariff refunds.
- Give (sort of) $2,000 to couples in the form of tax credits for having a child.
Yeah, we remember. We also remember that he came through on not a single one of those empty promises. Nay, verily, not one.
Whenever I see a news story about some idiot doing something really incredibly stupid like wrecking half-a-dozen cars while trying to flee police only to be caught, tased and jailed, I find myself wondering if that individual really thought things through to their logical end. In other words, how did he think it would all end?
You see, Trump, who fancies himself as some sort of wondrous dealmaker (whose record down through the years screams otherwise), has become such a proficient liar that falsehoods, exaggerations and distortions roll off his tongue faster than Natalie Harp can change his diaper.
And now, at that half-empty Repugnantcan mini-convention in Dallas this week, a desperate PIC “promised” $5,000 to each and every adult American if the Repugs can hold onto their majorities in the House and Senate in November.
And the MAGHATs—those in attendance, anyway—lapped it up, having learned nothing from his propensity to lie. Haven’t they learned anything from Charlie Brown trying to kick that football Lucy is holding after all this time? Insanity, after all, really is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
To those people, I would recommend THIS CLASSIC SONG by Andy Williams.
If you’re even remotely honest with yourself, you know full-well that TACO Don has absolutely no intention of fulfilling that insane promise of a bribe.
First and foremost, he has no authority to make such a commitment.
But hey, so what if he tacks another $1.3 trillion (about 35 percent) onto the $3.8 trillion he’s already added to the federal debt in less than two years of his second term?
Remember that $2,000 tax credit for having a child? It’s curious how he thought that might be an incentive to have children given the ESTIMATED COSTS of $310,000 for rearing a child from birth to age 18: And that’s before factoring in the cost of a four-year college education. Suddenly, that $2,000 tax credit doesn’t look so enticing.
So, all you math-challenged MAGHATs, you might want to purchase a Power Ball ticket. You have a better chance of collecting the grand prize. But go on and cheer your butts off at the false promise of some pie-in-the-sky $5,000 “dividend” without once considering how the increased costs of cars, gasoline, housing, electricity, groceries, vehicle insurance, vehicle repair, eating out, sports and event tickets, day care and preschool, even alcohol and pet care is costing you a helluva lot more than $5,000 per year.
Here’s The New York Times’s BREAKDOWN of price increases on a few commodities:
- A pound of steak: from $6 in 2012 to $13 today (117 percent);
- Beef and veal: 96 percent;
- Bread: 46 percent;
- Alcoholic beverages: 31 percent;
- Used vehicles: 20 percent;
- New vehicles: 25 percent;
- Alcoholic beverages: 31 percent;
- Pets and pet products: 24 percent;
- Furniture: 11 percent
- Clothing: 9 percent
- Appliances: 2 percent;
- Vehicle insurance: 115 percent
- Vehicle repair: 81 percent;
- Residential rent: 75 percent;
- Eating out: 69 percent;
- Financial services: 67 percent;
- Day care and preschool: 62 percent;
- College tuition: 43 percent;
- Club and sports fees: 33 percent;
- Public transportation: 12 percent;
Consumer goods overall: 47 percent increase.
Now ask yourself these questions:
- Have my wages increased accordingly?
- While $5,000 would help, would it actually offset the above increases?
- Is that empty promise of a non-existent $5,000 from a proven blowhard such a great deal after all?
So, the question then, is have you thought this latest and typically meaningless Mar-a-Lardo promise through to its ultimate conclusion?
Or do you choose to remain delusional?

The only logical conclusion: vote blue for Jamie Davis, Lindsey Rubia Garcia and other Democrats on your ballot.
He lies about pretty much everything and his supporters make it clear they don’t care. You can try to force feed them facts daily, but if they contradict DJT, they become fake or utterly non-existent and his most recent utterance becomes reality for them. We are fighting a losing battle with them. What we don’t need to fight a losing battle with is our election system. We have to vote his enablers out. He is not going to change.
The only people who think Trump will send them a check are stupid MAGA fascists and the mentally ill. …uh, wait …
Sadly, whatever garbage Trump spews (Don’t take it from me. Look at the words coming from his own mouth!), those who think Trump is the real deal see only what they want to see. MAGAs say we who oppose him are communists, terrorists, and we just hate Trump, so we can’t see or won’t see what good he has done. I do not see the good. If any “good” has been done, it’s undermined by his lies and corruption in doing it. I do not and will not support a sexual assaulter; an on-going marital cheater; a protector of pedophiles; a racist, misogynistic and cruel man; a bully; a liar; a man who portrays himself as Jesus; one who disregards the law and respects no rule or boundary; one who rounds up alleged immigrants, children included, and puts them in camps with no regard for human decency; one who is recorded saying he can grab women by the p—y and they love it; one who has his followers pledge allegiance to him and to cheat so he can win. Nor will I support anyone running for office who supports him. Whatever that makes me to some, so be it.
dream on democommies, it will be a long long time before Trump gets near being as bad as Brandon and Obama. Ya’lls TDS is do bad you ate voting communists in the demo raric party, how anti- American can you be. Thats why you will never be in power again.

DSA candidate abuse our Constitutional electoral system by running as Democrats even thought they hate Democrats as much as they hate Republicans. So far, they are a small part of the Democratic candidates, do NOT represent Democrat views and are NOT communists. What you said are lies spread by the propaganda sources you choose to believe.
The inflation comparison table in Facebook is interesting, but gives a false impression. Prices went up during the Biden administration because of COVID and the Ukraine war. Biden had no control of either of those events. Trump price increases are due to tariffs and the Iran war, 100% due to Trump’s actions.
I could go on, but you wouldn’t believe me because you have been brainwashed to only believe the propaganda lies from your sources.
Every now and then one of you worthless MAGA fascists show up, demonstrate your lack of education and intellectual capacity and prove you are an utter waste of air and water and have no value as a human being other than as a food supply for maggots. Here’s hoping you hurry on to the only purpose for your existence.
Goose,
I am no commie. While some Democrats are too far left for me, most are pretty moderate, I think. I am not particularly fond of Democrats (I am “no party”), but they at least are closer to where I stand than any Republican currently in office or leadership or anyone running for them.Trump’s and Republicans’ fake Christianity is way past what I’m willing to accept. Their mockery of God is palpable, dangerous, and despicable. Their bilking of and lying to the country is more than I can or will accept. Whatever you want to call me and others who think like I do, so be it. Your words only solidify my position.
Goose, I’ll give you this (no charge) and you can then decide for yourself who’s voting communist and who has terminal TDS.
Donald Trump Jr.’s Wedding Bankrolled by Putin-Linked Russian Oligarch — ProPublica
I agree with this writers point of view! This world is getting out of hand, and we don’t have the same pocketbook as our president, and he came out with the trump plan that has no concern for any of the single parents, or the HUD housing population, ppl who are in living in poverty. He really hasn’t upheld anything he has promised and honestly neither did the president before him. These days we can’t even look up to our presidents. We really need to focus on our basic human morals and don’t let them turn us against one another at this point.
Do as to others as you would want done to yourself.
meaning if you want respect how about giving a little respect!! Its not hard; just don’t expect different if you cant give it. NO one is better than the next person out here.
TDS is still believing Trump after more than 30,000 documented lies during his first term.
As I often respond to people who put faith in his promises: If you believe any of them I have a beautiful, gently-used, cable-stayed bridge across the Mississippi River for sale cheap.
