He switched parties proving that not only is he ELITE but also a political whore. Johnson? What can be said. The dude that gave away the power of the House to a Convicted Felon and was responsible for trying to have the 2020 election washed away with his BS court filings. An alleged “christian” whose religion is more related to the Devil that what he wants us to believe. And Higgins, the Louisiana Nut Pistolero!! A man whose intelligence is beyond questioning, IQ -32!! I love Lake charles but I cannot understand why they vote for this clown who has voted against the interest of that area more than once.
Tom, this is from the House Rules Book https://cha.house.gov/members-congressional-handbook and there should be one with identical verbiage for the senate. His inaction seems to be deliberately ripping off constituents because he is only doing family visits. His local office visitor logs would also be of interest. Even if residing in D.C. that, in my opinion, applies. Might be worth a FOIA request for travel information during his tenure, especially where he may have stayed (e.g. multiple days in BR or NOLNS or other hotel or resort. This is the only thing in the rule book that seems applicable.
Should this yield some nuggets, I’d bet the Advocate would like the story.
Travel
Travel must be in support of the Member’s official and representational duties to the district from which elected, and the primary purpose of the travel must be official in nature to be deemed “official travel.”
Ordinary and necessary expenses incurred by the Member, the Member’s employees, and in limited circumstances, vendors, while on official travel including transportation, lodging, meals (excluding alcohol), fees (e.g., parking, tolls, ticket change fees, travel insurance, etc.), and incidental expenses are reimbursable.
Official travel includes local travel and travel away from home overnight to conduct official and representational duties, within the United States and its territories and possessions, when returning to the duty station or residence is impractical. For Members who represent the insular territories, travel expenses incurred abroad (e.g. hotels) during the normal course of official travel by the Members to and from their duty station is authorized when no practical alternative is available.
A Member’s primary duty station is their district. An employee’s primary duty station is either the employing Member’s district or Washington, D.C., which is determined by the employee’s primary residence.
