The good Christians at Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy could stand a refresher course on their Bible verses and the teachings of Christianity.
For example, there’s this verse from John, Chapter 6, Verse 37: “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.”
That’s Jesus Christ speaking, in case you didn’t immediately recognize the verse and lots of folks who call themselves God’s people rarely, if ever, crack that book called the Holy Bible. Rather, they just sit in a pew on Sunday morning and nod their heads to the preacher’s words like they actually had a clue what he was talking about. They’ll throw out an occasional “Amen” because it looks and sounds good to those around them.
But somehow, they’re missing the central message of Christianity, which is to love one another and help those less fortunate. I know folks who will get their undies in a wad just because someone else got to church earlier and staked out their regular pew before them.
Or how about this one from Luke, Chapter 6, Verse 42: “How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye.”
What’s put the burr under my saddle to make me go off on a tangent like this?
The Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy, that paragon of virtue, that monument to all that is holy, has given the boot to a five-year-old kindergartner who lost her father in a workplace accident … because she is now living with her new adoptive parents, a gay couple.
Perhaps the administrators at Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy could brush up on this verse from Romans, Chapter 15, Verse 7: “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring glory to God.”
Hmm. That one seems to hit home.
Here’s one that knocks it out of the park, from First Corinthians (not One Corinthians, Trump), Chapter 13, Verse 13: “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is love.”
Emily Parker and wife Jennie recently adopted Zoey, Jennie’s niece, after Zoey first lost her mother and then her father last September. It was not immediately clear how she lost her mother but Jennie said now Zoey’s losing her school.
The Parkers were called to the principal’s office only two days before the school year started and they were told that because of their lifestyle choices and because Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy is a religious-based school and because students are taught that marriage was between a man and a woman and — well, just because — Zoey’s no longer welcome.
Meanwhile, there’s this breaking news story: https://www.washingtonpost.com/religion/2022/08/12/fbi-southern-baptist-sexual-abuse/?wpisrc=nl_headlines&carta-url=https%3A%2F%2Fs2.washingtonpost.com%2Fcar-ln-tr%2F37a3e7f%2F62f77646cfe8a216012b1f39%2F5cd6d39eade4e21ae0fd327e%2F42%2F59%2F62f77646cfe8a216012b1f39&wp_cu=5f9eae47041a5f47f1cb6742b761281d%7C889DF7FF94C45EFEE0530100007FB9CA
Here’s another, for good measure, from Matthew, Chapter 7, Verse 1: “Judge not that ye be not judged.”
Bible Baptist Academy in DeQuincy may not be the WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH just yet, but they’ve certainly laid the groundwork.
There is also, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16.
Thank you, very much, for bringing this information to your readers.
I’d tell the little girl to say good riddance. You only have to read current news about DCFS to know how critical a loving guardian can be to an orphan. I’ve always heard that you can look at every situation as a learning experience. In this one, the good church teaches her a valuable lesson on hate. It probably won’t be the last one. Hug your aunt and her wife, little girl, and be glad that they are there to save you from foster care.
“Straight Parents” should get their kids out of this toxic school ASAP. They are brainwashing them to hate and be prejudiced against others that God loves. Get out fast!!
I doubt that schools like this have policies where they blame a kid whose parent/guardian is a convicted rapist or murderer, but they couldn’t possibly allow a child to attend if they have gay parent/guardian??? What scumbags.
Deliver me from these “Christians”. They should ask themselves, “What would Christ do?”. The little girl is learning about hate and rejection, love and acceptance..at the end of the day, love will prevail.
Lord, Lord!!
I see that library guy you wrote about in Lafayette is back at it again!:

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.'” (Matthew 9:37) Christians are called to a life of evangelism by building relationships with non-believers and through those relationships communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ, whether that be by word or deed. By definition non-believers are sinful. But so are Christians. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) If you refuse associations with others because of some perceived sin in their life that’s not Christianity; that’s self-righteousness.
Amen, and thanks! In short, love always, go top gun ron thompson
Absolutely disgusting!
Nice to see there are still some folks in LA with their wits about them.
This is certainly difficult yes. Sure enough the Bible says all those things, but that’s taking it out of context. It’s like taking a snapshot of a photo and zooming in really close and saying that’s the whole photo. You have to read like a few verses before and after and even sometimes the whole chapter to really understand what’s going on. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 also states that homosexuals will not enter into heaven, HOWEVER, if they want to follow God and let go of their ways, then God will always accept them. And the Bible multiple times says that homosexuality is wrong. I personally believe homosexuality is wrong because it’s in the Bible that it’s wrong. And 1 Corinthians was written after Jesus taught what he taught. And it was written by Paul. So, I don’t believe homosexuality is right, but at the same time, I don’t think what they did was right either. The reason is because God could’ve used them to talk to that couple by talking about them about God. But I don’t know, it really is difficult. I am Christian, and I would say let’s pray for this. Let’s pray that Zoey may find a new home for school and that she may grow up to be a good and successful person. Let’s pray that God may come into her life and help her in all of her circumstances. Let’s pray that her parents may be blessed with work and guidance in all of their lives and that they may receive wisdom from God as to what to do with Zoey. Let’s pray, that God may protect all of them and that God may guide them ALL TO HEAVEN. It is Gods will that even that Lesbian couple ends up in heaven, believe that! It’s in the Bible
