It is my fondest hope the justice department will see no option to a criminal indictment of DJT after the results of this investigation are fully reported. Thompson and Cheney spoke volumes to this tonight in their opening statements. They were more compelling than the witnesses or videos.
I have the same hope but I don’t think it will happen. Too many Americans are utterly sold out to the lies. Prosecuting Trump would be risky business. I’ll settle for so discrediting Trump he can never win another election. It’s not justice but it might be the best we can do given the number of Americans who have abandoned the Constitution and the rule of law for the embrace of their prejudices.
