The thing that bothers me is that idiots are being duly elected to help govern us. Isn’t it time to take a look at the voters that elect obvious idiots? Not sure about the solution….but, this is the cause!
This nonsense gained traction when an actor was elected president with the attitude that government was the problem, which is simply ridiculous. Government by and for the people should not be a problem – it is supposed to serve and protect. When it is run by cronies like a banana republic, that is when it is a problem.
I was just reading about the Koch Brothers and their cronies and it seems to me that they are functioning similar to what goes on in Russia, except they buy off and manipulate what is supposed to be our duly elected Congress, which have actually become “political prostitutes!” They can control which laws pass or even if a bill gets considered….which brings Manchin into consideration. Again, I do not know the answer because I fear even the educated among us simply cannot conceive that this is actually how our government is run. Therefore, they vote on emotional, moral issues and miss the big picture…as Pogo once said: “I have met the enemy and he is us!”
Well said folks, well said. Maybe they could drop the filibuster count from sixty to fifty five and Manchin could live with that.
