(With apologies to Margaret Wise Brown)
Good night loon,
Good night goon,
Good night nastiest man in the room.
Good night lies,
Good night spies,
Good night rants and alibis.
Good night twitter,
Good night tweets.
Good night all those crazy bleats.
Good night red hats,
Good night cruel chants,
Good night sniveling sycophants.
Good night wall,
Good night cages,
Good night endless midnight rages.
Good night fine people on both sides,
Good night losers, good night suckers,
Good night evil nasty f**kers.
Good night Ivanka
Good night Jared,
Good night Baron, we hardly knew ya.
Good night thief, Good night grief,
Good night cruel and callous chief.
Good night fake news, And Fox and friends,
This is how the nightmare ends.
Good night at last. It’s time to go,
The American people told you so.
And good riddance! (Love the poem)
Love it! Thank God & the American people who voted with some sanity!!
A great take on the Margaret Wise Brown poem, “Goodnight Moon.” I wish every line could instantly happen with the departure of the worst administration in my lifetime (a record, hopefully, to never be beaten).
Unfortunately, “the evil that men do lives after them” [W.S.] and the people who support that evil hang onto it with great vigor, encouraged by their enabling media. The purveyors of discord depend on it for their incomes and the consumers depend on it to keep their hate alive.
But, maybe, as ole W. S. also wrote, enough of us can learn to “love all, trust a few, and do wrong to none.”
…”to sleep, perchance to dream.” [with a different meaning than W. S.’s].
Good lord you people are crazy.
Best poem I’ve heard this year…or perhaps for 4 years. Tomorrow, tomorrow there is hope tomorrow.
