“If you wanted me to be mad about foreign business entanglements, you should have done something about Trump.” —Tweet by Alex Cole.
“The Department of Justice will ignore the president’s remarks about indicting political opponents just as the department has always done in the past. It may be legal for the president to make those requests, but it is not legal for the attorney general to act on them.” —Former deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, on Trump’s demands that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden be arrested for spying on his 2016 campaign. [Trump gets a little more desperate with each passing day. Maybe he is cognizant of his own pending legal peril once out of office.]
“I’m worried the political situation is not going to get better. I worry we may not be able to turn it around. I knew Trump was a fascist, and I knew he was going to destroy this country, but I didn’t know how much. And Marjorie’s only going to make it worse.” —Democrat Kevin Van Ausdal, who just wanted to “bring civility back to Washington” when he qualified to run for U.S. Representative from Georgia’s 14th Congressional District against QAnon candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene. After 31 days of verbal abuse from Taylor Greene, Trump and QAnon sympathizers, he pulled out of the race, a broken man, disillusioned about the future of political discourse in this country. [This is what Trump hath wrought.]
“He wasn’t doing anything, I don’t think, to provoke people to threaten this woman at all. He was having fun at a Trump rally, and, quite frankly, there are bigger issues than this right now for everyday Americans. People want to get the country reopened” and “they want to get back to work.” —First Daughter-in-Law Lara Trump to Jake Tapper, in defending his stoking the “lock her up” chants against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer during a Muskegon Michigan rally Saturday. [Oh, well then….as long as he’s just having fun….]
“Most people around here are kind of adjusted to the idea that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. That’s not surprising to people in our area.” — Joe Jackson, Mayor of Belzoni, Mississippi, which is located in the most heavily audited county in the U.S; – where the IRS audits tax returns at a rate 53 percent higher than the national average. [Yes, Virginia, even more than Manhattan, where millionaires and billionaires like Donald Trump reside.]
NOT A TRUMP QUOTE, but it should be (with apologies to Cavin & Hobbes):
“I imagine reporters and women have a dim perception that nature played a cruel trick on them, but they lack the intelligence to really comprehend the magnitude of it.”
—Tweet by Orin Kerr.
Who could have ever imagined that the White House Criminal-in-Chief would have ever had such audacity as to call for the arrest of his political opponents based on nothing except he is losing the election. But then again, considering all his vile acts, maybe it isn’t so surprising.
I think we should all be aware of what Trump enjoys as “fun!” His idea of fun has been (by example) and always will be to bully, intimidate, make fun of, encourage violence and generally act like a petulant dictator. There is no healthy amusement to be found in Trump’s “fun.” Having lived up close and personal with Trump, Lara Trump surely knows this full well and is the reason she lies so effortlessly for him. “Bless her little heart!”
“Bless his/her/its heart” is a wonderful Southern expression used to describe someone who is (a) incredibly ugly or (b) incredibly stupid. I would never call Laura Trump ugly.
And, I am guessing she is smarter than her husband.
“Joe Biden is a criminal because, well, his son had emails, and like, you know, email.”. Not because he had email you dolt. It was the content of those emails. The fact that a man running for President is likely on the take with China, Russia, Ukraine and God knows who else should cause alarm. The fact that Democrats do not care is what is alarming.
And enough of that Trump-Russia b.s. After three+ years of investigation, what we now know for certain is that Hillary paid a Russian spy $7 Million to fabricate a story on her opponent and that Biden had evidently received $3.5 million from the wife of the mayor of Moscow. But of course none of you have any concern with that. It is okay if you know a democrat is crooked but if you think a republican is crooked, well that is just awful. All of this expressed self-righteous indignation is now obviously hypocritical.
And Ben, Lara Trump is hardly stupid. And Edith, you were complaining about Trump on the gold course (no more than Obama or Bush) – that is enjoyment to those who like the game. CJ, seriously, no one has been convicted of anything as of today, so none of them are “criminals” yet. All you have is allegations. On both sides.
You are dead wrong in your comparison of Trump’s time on the golf course, Zoe. Dead wrong, as usual. Trump has spent far more time golfing during his four years than George W. or Obama in their 8 years. Get your damn facts straight and don’t make claims that are so easily checked. And don’t point fingers about any Russian connections. We still haven’t seen who that $400 million is owed to. Nor have we seen his tax returns for the past three years.
“all you have is allegations. On both sides.”
Says the person who only offers the conspiracy driven allegations she finds on social media. People who track presidential golfing have handily documented trumps presidential excursions at far more than Obamas. It looks to be more than Obama & Bush combined, for a total of 16 years. Of course, the only reason why it’s an issue is all the whining that trump did about Obama’s golfing and the numerous times he claimed that he would be too busy to golf if he were President. So, yeah… he’s just lying… again. Just like you… again.
So, “enough of that” Biden conspiracy crap. Your social media sources can manufacture all manner of fictional amounts that trumps political opponents purportedly owe, but none of them are talking about the more than 400 million that trump owes, according to his own taxes, and including millions to shady authoritarian individuals. Let’s get to the bottom of THAT. Why can’t the self-proclaimed stable genius pay more than $1500 in nearly 15 years, but the Bidens paid $346k and the Harris’ paid double that in 2019 alone.
Self-righteous indignation is clearly something you know about.
Sadly true, but he still got elected in 2016 didn’t he?
Zoe, do you ever fact check anything before you post it on this blog?
