“The mood is like probably what it felt like when you were on the Titanic. These cowardly Republicans in the Senate and House know Trump’s going to get destroyed in November but they’re tied to him and they’re gonna go down with him and they have no choice, and I think they realize that.”
—Former Congressman Joe Walsh, once a strong supporter of Donald Trump.
“Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness…In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.”
—British writer Nate White.
And some people who post here don’t understand why we hold him in contempt?
…and his minions – all of our Congressional delegation, except Richmond.
I still say the eerie thing about Trump is that by using ALL of the above ugly, destructive, mean characteristics named in the above quote, managed to commandeer the entire Republican Party. When I listen to Louisiana’s duly elected Republican U.S. Senators and Representatives….I only think of Trump. They have no personalities, thoughts or actions of their own…they are just Trump in all of his criminal, tawdry sex stuff and inhumane deeds…that is all they are…and, yet, they continue to keep their voters….therein lies our problem…the voters among us that just cannot see the absolute wickedness of Donald Trump…
I wonder if they would see it if Trump actually inspired a civil war and we became like Rwanda where neighbors killed their next door neighbors because they were members of a different tribe (in our case, party, or, worse, race)? My guess is no. If they don’t see it by now, they are not going to see it. I know married couples who cannot discuss politics because they have polar opposite views and, apparently, always will. I have relatives I can no longer tolerate simply because they love Trump and everything Republican. I wonder if we will see a “United” States of America in our lifetime. Trump will go down as the most destructive President in U. S. history – or will he? As many wise people have said, and he proves daily, things can always get worse.
You are so right that “things can always get worse.” He is not done yet. He desperately wants to send kids back to school as does his Education Secretary Betsy DeVos (sister of Erik Prince founder of Blackwater U.S.A.). Such actions would be a calamity but tRump wants to pump the economy to help his reelection chances, thinking only of himself, the lives of the innocents be damned.
