“After seeing three and a half years of chaos and incompetence and division, a lot of people have just been pushed to say, ‘We have got to do something else.’ We may not be fully on board with the Democratic agenda, but this is a one-issue election: ‘Are you for Donald Trump, or are you for America?’”
—Kristopher Purcell, a former Bush administration official and co-founder of a Super PAC called 43 Alumni for Biden, comprised of Republicans working to defeat Trump.
“I’d be feeling pretty good now, but I wouldn’t be buying property in Northwest Washington quite yet.”
—Ken Khachigian, a former aide to Nixon and chief speechwriter for Ronald Reagan, on polls that show Joe Biden with a double-digit lead over Trump.
“I thought it was a mistake to run a low-key race. But given Trump’s erratic behavior and his miscues … for now, Biden is running a perfect race, which means let Trump be Trump, let him self-destruct.”
—Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.
The record seems to indicate that as long as Trump is President….nothing else will matter….no improvements in foreign affairs…no mending fences with our European allies….no justice on any front at home…nothing to stop open corruption in our highest government offices…in other words….more Trump will surely mean more downward spiral of everything good in America while Putin and other vicious world Dictators laugh….so, defeating Trump is really the only issue before any other good issue for America can even be considered.
Two things scare me:
1. His opponent is uninspiring and does best out of sight and silent.
2. He may use the civil unrest he is attempting to escalate to declare a national emergency, throwing the whole country to flux and, perhaps, an actual civil war.
We have to remain vigilant and VOTE him and his enablers out as soon as it is possible to do so.
I must politely disagree about Trump’s opponent being “uninspiring”…many are finding that he inspires a welcome return to basic decency, a spoken support for real equality for all Americans and an opportunity to restore America’s place as a leader in the free world, refuting any “dictator love!” He actually presents the exact opposite of Trump and this along inspires hope for the future of America.
I agree Miz Edith.
“Basic decency” ? This is the same guy who has fondled every woman or child he gets near? The same guy who had to drop a presidential run due to plagiarism? The same guy who had to quit another run because he lied about his academic history – class rank and scholarship (when any idiot would know that could easily be checked)? The same guy who was so closely allied with Senator Byrd (former Klansman)? And what exactly has Biden done with 40+ years in Washington, besides getting wealthy ?
All of the civil unrest is being instigated by democrats and democrat run media. You do not see republicans looting, rioting or vandalizing statues or private party. It is pretty evident to anyone where the “chaos” is coming from. I certainly do not recall and public outcry or riots when Mr. Obama was elected, even though many people were very unhappy that a man with such left leaning beliefs was put in office.
Stephen, to borrow from some of the commercials on air now: “In these trying times”, “in these times of uncertainty” what exactly is Biden supposed to do? He’s not even officially the Democratic nominee although he has the needed delegates. Is he going to hold a mass rally someplace? I sincerely doubt it. The official period for campaigning won’t even start until sometime after the conventions, correct?
I don’t mean to knock him, but I just wish we had a stronger candidate. I keep flashing back to the last election and I look at other people who would be stronger, Andrew Cuomo to name just one. In other words, I wish we had a candidate more people could get enthusiastic about voting FOR, rather than just an alternative. I have no doubt Biden is as decent a politician as is out there and he is an incalculably better human being than Donald Trump so he certainly deserves and will get my vote.
P. S. I still don’t understand why more people didn’t get behind Seth Moulton. He was the perfect candidate.

This socialist leaning individual is what you are pinning your hopes on. In other words, 4 more years of democrats whining..
Zoe, if I were a Trump loyalist like you, I don’t think I would bring up fondling women or lying about academic history, if you know what I mean (wink, wink). Just sayin’.
And you can’t attach a blanket label on any group, looters and rioters included, because unless you’re clairvoyant, let’s admit it, you really don’t know who any of them are.
But we do know that Mr. Trump has “instigated” beatings, theft of 30,000 emails, race hatred, and general “chaos.” That much we do know because he tweets it or says it in a speech every single day. Every day.
whooops I agree with ms. Edith, but well understand Mr. Winham’s feelings on 1.. 2. His enablers are cowards, and the civil unrest is already a national emergency. Trump and his enablers, the GOP element and Putin are old hands at this propaganda. I trust our “intelligence” agencies. Discovered a book in an old footlocker closed since 1959??Footlocker belonged to an Ordance officer who worked TOP Secret in developing rocket to counter the Sputnick scare. the Book, “The Secret Front, by Wilhelm Hoettl, a former intelligence officer for Hitler. great read thanks ron thompson
Zoe. Zoe, Zoe, the peaceful protests are not aimed at Trump. The protest are about the racial injustice. I am sure there are a lot of Republicans participating in the peaceful protests. As for the looting, destruction of property, and the vandalism you can’t put a label on these people. I just read an article which compared Trump’s reaction and response to violent protesting to 4 other presidents. The article focused on the two Bushes, Clinton, and Obama. Each of those 4 had to deal with peaceful and violent protests after what many thought were unjustified beatings (Rodney King for the first Bush) or unjustified killings. Somehow it noted that those 4 presidents’ nonresponse or response was far better than Trump’s.
Since you have labeled the looters and vandals as Democrats, I guess you can label all of the people who have displayed nooses, pinned a black man to a tree, berated people of color, called the police just because the person was of color, and all the so called Karens as Republicans. Finally, no president, other than Obama, has been called a liar by a member of Congress, while he was delivering his state of the union address. Called a liar by a Republican congressman.
