“He did good, although it’s always questionable, you know, in other words, the end result —”
—Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner, in claiming he had done more for African-Americans than any president since Lincoln.
“Well, we are free, Mr. President, so I think he did pretty well,”
—Faulkner, cutting Trump off to point out that Lincoln, did in fact, “do good.”
“This may well be the president’s most audacious claim ever. Not only has he not done more than anybody else, he’s done close to the least.”
—Michael Fauntroy, professor of political science at Howard University, to The New York Times on Trump’s claim to have done so much for African-Americans.
One thing we can always count on – President Trump remains in character under all circumstances – not good character, but character, nonetheless.
This is very tiresome….We all know by now that Trump suffers from a very high degree of Malignant Narcissism. He has shown us in textbook examples of how completely destructive this mental and emotional dysfunction works. The question is how much longer can America tolerate and even survive being governed by this flawed, dysfunctional leader surrounded by those weaker than he is?
Well Ms. Herring, it looks like we will have to tolerate him until November when he receives his thrashing at the voting booths. Along with the Senate. But he will leave voluntarily. He is too much of a coward to confront anyone physically removing him. Unless of course he has found a secret hiding place in the WH bunker. Maybe that’s what he was looking for during his “inspection tour.” Can you imagine how many laws will have to be passed after he is gone to prevent another president from doing all the things he has done?
Well, first of all, Lincoln DID NOT free anyone, most certainly not the slaves. He “freed” slaves in states that had seceded from the union, of which he had zero authority by proclamation, which was meaningless. He was harsh in his treatment of the American Indian.
No Edith “We” do not “all” know any such thing. What we do know, is you, CJ , Stephen, Tom etc. have a blinding hatred for Trump and cannot acknowledge anything positive about him. Is he “perfect” ? Hardly. Is he a politician ? No ! Does he say what is on his mind at any moment totally uncensored ? Yes. But CJ, you are correct in one thing…many laws will be passed to prevent what has happened to him from ever happening again. Bush (whom I did not care for) was treated badly by the press at every turn, but the press treatment of Trump, which began before he ever took office, has been brutal and relentless.
And CJ, you are pinning your hopes on this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVCPfnbEB2I&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR2_bWVWvoc4X-5n7hE9L73lY0cpYRZ0Q9blD9ikOy6bQ1H3bnBT863r_fA . Right, Trump can’t focus.
Dear Zoe….gosh, this post must have gotten on your Trump nerve. YES, we all (except those that refuse to acknowledge truths about Trump) do know that Trump suffers from incurable mental and emotional dysfunctions under the clinical name of Malignant Narcissism. This is a well established fact. And, as for hating the old guy….his actions are what are deplorable. I, for one, wish that someone that really cares for him could get him help and relieve him from all of this stress that he is obviously under. I have learned from reading your posts that you are a very deeply ingrained Trump die hard…therefore, I will leave you to whatever Trumpland fairytale you are hung up on today.
Touche’, Edith, touche’.
Ms. Zoe you should be appointed Lead Trump Defender. No one else seems to rise to the occasion. Your facts are always on shaky grounds, but keep trying. You have until January 20, 2021. Then you will have to change your stance and start criticizing President Biden. Get ready.
My facts “are always on shaky ground”? Really? Specifics ?
I will not have to waste a single moment criticizing President Biden.
“Well, first of all, Lincoln DID NOT free anyone, most certainly not the slaves. He “freed” slaves in states that had seceded from the union, of which he had zero authority by proclamation, which was meaningless.”
Not quite correct, Zoe. He did free the slaves in those states of which had rebelled against the Union. That means in those border states that had slavery and did not rebel, the proclamation had no affect. Also, the proclamation was legal in that he issued as commander-in-chief of the armed forces. It was a legal war measure. Actually, in the early days of the Civil War, some of his Union commanders did the same thing.
Edith, I did not realize that you were a qualified psychologist. Sorry for my error.
I am a conservative and do not have a Trump nerve, but I do have an anti-liberal nerve. Millions of people do not see Trump’s actions as “deplorable” as such, but more for support of conservative values. As I have stated in previous posts, both sides (liberal and conservative) feel the other side lives in “fantasyland”. I try to not be slanderous, hateful, or judgmental, an attribute I wish liberals would share.(example, Stephen’s post above – he could have stopped with “Trump remains in character” but has to insert “not good character” as an extra dig, rather than simply imply).
Tell me, do you actually believe Joe Biden can handle any job whatsoever ? Is that the agenda you support ? Look at the citation I posted for CJ. That is Biden trying to read a prepared statement. He can’t.
I am sorry we are so far apart politically, but I support your right to speak your mind. I cannot support a man slipping who is into senility nor can I support the modern Democrat agenda. I am puzzled that any sensible person could either. It appears I am the only conservative who bothers to share their thoughts on this blog.
“It appears I am the only conservative who bothers to share their thoughts on this blog.”
Maybe that should tell you something, Zoe.
Dear Zoe, once again, you claim not to attack, while attacking….Good Trumpian move. Joe Biden has the qualifications to serve as president. You always cite some speech where you feel that Biden proved that he is “senile” so while I am not a Psychologist, are you a medical doctor? I am confident that Biden will serve well and appoint the most professional and competent people available to lead our government agencies and otherwise. Your problem seems to be with the “liberal agenda” and that says quite a lot about your ideology. You seem to be willing to accept ALL of Trump’s very obvious shortcomings in order to fulfill your “conservative agenda”, like all of these Republican Congress people, except Romney. You have actually bought the pig in the poke and do not realize it. This is the saddest commentary of all….
