Trump said this morning that they already had 200,000 requests for tickets….but, then….Trump lies all of the time about everything…Just imagine folks actually paying to go be possibly infected with the covid-19 virus. Absolutely mind boggling!
All sitting there shoulder to shoulder, without masks, yelling and spewing droplets to everyone around them, then going home, possibly infecting family, friends, and neighbors. And what is the point of these insane actions?
CJG: The only explanation that I have heard is that it makes Trump “happy”. It will be interesting to watch and see if Trump is surrounded by a plastic box or if he will glory in all of that free flying microscopic spittle….?
In case no one has noticed, thousands have been on streets demanding de-funding police departments, supporting BLM, removal of Confederate artifacts etc. Many liberals have encouraged this and even defends looters and rioters (which is inherently different than protesting). Are any of you concerned about a spike in virus ? Seems to me you just do not want to see Trump draw a large crowd (which he will). Joe Biden might draw a hundred or so at best.
CJ, an average democrat would be excited to see republicans get sick….like the shooting in Las Vegas when someone on CNN (I believe) stated so what, those people were mostly Trump supporters so why care. And I believe Trump is anxious to draw Biden out of his bunker to expose him.
Zoe, I assume you believe the looters and rioters were Antifa, but they were actually the radical right Boogaloo Bois who are not supported by any liberals. We know this because their plans were discussed on the internet and in reputable news sources before George Floyd was murdered and the peaceful demonstrations started.
You say that as if Trumps hands are clean in all this… they are not. His mouth has singularly upended these crises at every turn and clearly made them worse. Sure, he might draw large crowds; but I don’t think anyone will forgive him if they bring COVID home and it kills their grandparents…. no matter what the legal verbage is on his little tickets. The “defund the police” garbage is a relatively easy debate to have if we stop shouting at each other and attempting to brand the other side with the proverbial scarlet-letter-H. I mean, 65% of the population do not support it right now. Maybe if we could stop calling people names long enough to talk about what we DO agree on, then perhaps we can move forward on something… anything! But that’s not likely to happen with this guy blasting Breitbart & OANN through his twitter-phone.
And what exactly is Trump supposed to expose Biden with? Eight years in the second highest office, after a lifetime in congress has pretty much laid everything bare, except for the conspiracies in Trumps mind. At this point, in the words of Edwin Edwards, he’d have to be caught in bed with a dead woman or a live boy… and I’m not sure that would matter to about a third of the pop.
stated so what, those people were mostly Trump supporters so why care
Close, but no cigar Zoe.

And yes zoe I’m concerned about possible spikes in the virus from the protests going on. However, almost all the images I’ve seen of them show they are wearing masks.
Well, Zoe, you continue to speak in vague, general terms and when you do try to get specific, you get it wrong. It was a CBS exec (not CNN) and he said nothing about “Trump supporters,” specifically. He said most of the victims were “Republican gun-toters,” and he was promptly fired for saying it.
Funny you should refer to Biden being in a “bunker” in light of your own bunker boy hiding out when it got a little loud outside. Why didn’t he charge the “rioters” as he said he would have done at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. What would he confront them with, a Big Mac?
Confederate “artifacts”? Seriously? The question that really bothers me is all these Trump supporters claim to be “patriots,” even “super-patriots,” yet so many of them want to preserve the very symbols of revolution against this nation. For the life of me, I can’t understand how anyone can embrace both the American flag and the Confederate flag when they represent ideals that are polar opposites. The irony is just too much, but you apparently want to keep those “artifacts” intact to promote the radical concept of revolution and insurrection. Sorry, but that just doesn’t square up. I suppose Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest (founder of the KKK) remains alive in your fluttering heart.
It’s not just Republicans who support the symbols of the old South. It crosses all parties. Why is it so hard to understand the embracing of the American and the Confederate flag? I’m a Southern Nationalist but also a proud and loyal American. Revolution and insurrection? No. It was about freedom. It was nothing more than what our founding fathers wanted when they seceded from England.
No, no, NO Bill! The freedom you speak of did not extend to slaves and is well documented as flashpoint that led to the Confederate revolt. US history is probably better documented than any country in the world, and the impetus for the US Civil War is very clear. It was a textbook definition of a revolution and insurrection.
Those statues and flags don’t cause me a lot of personal concern either, but they clearly bother others and that alone makes a strong argument for why they have to go. If it means that we can bridge the racial divide even a little bit, then it absolutely gives the argument to remove them merit.
Kamarcan we’ll have to agree to disagree. I know all the debates about the war. There is always two sides to an issue. You look at it one way and I another.
Thank you, Wildbill68 and Kamarcan: Intelligent debate about honest differences of opinion without the insults and name-calling. Very refreshing! I was starting to lose hope.
