“This notion of injecting or ingesting any type of cleansing product into the body is irresponsible, and it’s dangerous. It’s a common method that people utilize when they want to kill themselves.”
–Dr. Van Gupta, a pulmonologist and global health policy expert, on Trump’s idea of injecting disinfectants into the body as a coronavirus cure.
“If Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.”
–British writer Michael Stevenson. You may read his entire essay HERE. [With thanks to Earthmother for passing it along.]
Thank you earthmother! Perfect!
I highly recommend everybody click on the link to the essay by British writer Michael Stevenson and read it. It’s French heading is particularly appropriate and truly makes one wonder how anybody can possibly support the person, Donald John Trump, POTUS or not.
I ask, in particular, that the Trump supporters who post here read the essay because it provides a more than ample description of why the rest of us can never support him. Nothing positive he could possibly do would change the person he is.
The thing I found most encouraging in the essay is that Stevenson estimates Trump’s solid support at only about 33% of Americans – something most of us used to hope. We will find out in November and let’s hope he is correct and that maybe, over time, this 33% will see what is wrong with having a narcissistic sociopath as leader of a country – then we can have some hope of becoming a united country, or at least 90% united. Is that asking for too much?
Rudy Giuliani was interviewed on Fox Thursday night on the Laura Ingraham show and the subject turned to coronavirus and contact tracing. Here is the exchange:
Ingraham: Michael Bloomberg is gonna handle the tracing, army of tracers in NY we learned today from Cuomo.
Giuliani: That’s totally ridiculous.
Ingraham: The army of tracers.
Giuliani: Then we should trace everybody for cancer.
Ingraham: Yeah, army of tracers.
Giuliani: We should trace everybody for cancer, and heart disease. And obesity. I mean, a lot of things kill you more than Covid-19. So, we should be traced for all those things. I mean life possesses a certain degree of risk
So, we have Trump and Giuliani. Dumb and Dumber. One wants us to ingest poison and the other thinks obesity, cancer and heart disease are contagious.
Yet, in the alternate universe in which at least a third of our population exists this discourse made perfect sense.
Mr. Winham, in addition to Trump & Rudy, I would have to add Ingram. Only, I am not sure she is dumb, just playing dumb to play the dumb and make big money. Payday someday?
And, Ms. Herring, to Laura Ingraham, I would add:
Trish Regan
Tucker Carlson
Sean Hannity
Rush Limbaugh
Michael Savage
Glenn Beck
Mark Levin
Alex Jones
…and too many other purveyors of propaganda for money without a care for the civil unrest they foment with the distortions and lies they feed the willing masses of people who listen and watch them and believe everything they say, even when, like President Trump they directly contradict themselves.
In the marketplace of information we can all believe whatever we want and dismiss the rest – and we do.
Not being able to speak for Trump, I understood that he simply meant wouldn’t it be nice to simply inject an anti-bacterial substance to kill a virus, or kill virus with ultra-violet light? I am pretty certain that he knows one cannot inject Lysol, bleach etc.I certainly agree that he should have NOT stated it in the manner he did simply because some people (like yourself) may take that literally as a way to kill virus,
And CJ,, Guillani did not say what you imply ie. contagious. He was referring to the “tracing” aspect of citizens, which is, in fact absurd and an infringement on one’s freedom of movement. Remember Bill Gates suggestion that we all have implants for tracking purposes ? Surely you understand that.his statement was pointing to the absurdity of tracing other illness that can be passed on, genetically speaking to others, and could result in death.
And Stephen, I will read essay when I have the time, only because I like to see other perspectives. although I know what kind of liberal slant the Brits will use.I am still saddened that you prefer a man sliding into dementia and who is literally corrupt (not too difficult to ascertain) to the nth degree to be you leader over one you view as despicable. Sadly, you seem to believe that a man who is under the thumb of the Chinese will somehow be tough on our chief enemy while the man who actually is tough on China, Russia, Iran is not !!
And both of us see 1/3 of population living in an alternate reality, but both of us believe it is the side of the other party.
Sorry, Zoe, you can’t put the genie back in the bottle. He meant it. Watch the video. It’s quite obvious to anyone not wearing earplugs that he was dead serious.
You have a sad knack for trying to rationalize everything Trump says by dredging up something someone else said. I would estimate that in 90% of your defenses of Trump, you do so by invoking something Obama or Bill Gates or someone else said. You bring nothing new to the table.
That’s the same thing Trump did in the Republican debates and in his debates against Clinton. That does nothing to advance the issues at hand. That’s diversion and misdirection, a trick used effectively by stage magicians but which has no place in a discussion about a subject as serious as a pandemic.
Shame on you for attempting such cheap theatrics.
Zoe – All I have to say is that you are projecting all of Trump’s negatives on to Biden. Trump obviously loves China – even as he blusters and issues tariffs that almost destroyed American industries & agriculture, he maintains his and Ivanka’s rights to have their cheap Chinese products manufactured there. Then after the destruction of these industries, Trump takes your tax dollar and hands over huge bailouts without so much as any Congressional oversight, while telling you that China is paying for the tariffs. The Trump that you trumpet simply does not exist. Nor does the Biden that you disparage. You are very knowledgeable about alternate reality.

Each side is full of blind hate and thinks the other lives in alternate universe. Some master twisting words. Some, like Pelosi and Biden, can barely formulate words and sentences.
anyone who criticizes Pelosi, Biden or anyone else, as being barely able to formulate a sentence, but who thinks trump is a coherent communicator, has serious problems with perception and real world understanding of the way normal adults express actual thoughts, and the ability to read a prepared script.
I have always wanted a Trumper to interpret Trump’s “speach/rants”. What you simply refuse to admit is that folks that oppose Trump are basing their distrust on first-hand observations and official public government records. I cannot speak for others but my “hate” is really just opposition to things that I know are destroying the fabric of our democracy. Trump could not have become so powerful without the aiding and abetting of these Congressional Republicans. They have weakened America at home and abroad and I see clear evidence that Putin is very happy. I am mystified as to why this doesn’t seem to bother you in the least?
