It just seems to us that the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health, formerly the executive commissioner of Texas Health and Human Services, would have a Louisiana state flag over her left shoulder instead of a Texas state flag in her photo on the LDH OFFICIAL WEB PAGE. Just sayin’…
Is it possible that’s a photo from her former position in Texas? Is there a construction crane behind her office in Baton Rouge?
It is. See Clifford’s comment below.
It’s got to be a prior photo. But, you can’t blame her, LDH officials should have made sure it was a current photo in her current office.
Yep, this should have been an easy thing to attend to.
Guess it must be a slow day when people have nothing better to do than complain about a flag.
Thankful for that!
Several people are responsible for this embarrassing little mess. Starting with the new secretary for providing it and not having a new official photo taken. The director of communications, the webmaster, whoever posted the photo, displayed a lazy lack of attention to simple detail. As the webmaster (mistress?) for my state agency, I checked every photo we posted to ensure that nothing in it was inappropriate. Whoever posted the photo didn’t even bother to crop out the busy reflections in the too shiny desk, the Texas flag, the distracting background – about a ten second edit. Let’s watch to see how soon a Louisiana photographer is called in, or a member of the communications staff fixes this one.
Earthmother, it wasn’t her job to provide a photograph.
This is the same photo used by the media when she was hired. My guess is it is the only professional portrait they have right now.
I’m sure she can sit for a professional portrait when she is not busy trying to deal with little things like the Coronavirus.
This morning, there is no photo of Dr. Phillips on the LDH web page introducing her.
Clearly, somebody over there is a LouisianaVoice fan. 🙂
