And then several days ago he threatens to adjourn Congress; power he doesn’t have but another dictator like maneuver. Of what use is this man to the United States of America? What has he done to unite the country and lead us and the world in a positive direction? All he does, on a daily basis, is sow the seeds of discontent, discord, and destruction. He serves no purpose. He rants and he raves about how he is so mistreated by the press. Frankly, the press would do us a big favor if they stopped attending his CV “briefings.” He is an accident of history. A pinprick in the long list of American leaders.
If I was a Trump supporter, I would, once again, quote Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen, and philosophers, and divines.”
Since I’m not, I won’t.
CJ, please do not sink to Rachel Maddow level ! I thought more of you than that.Trump I am certain uses the daily briefings for exposure as well as to inform public. Any, and all Presidents have done the same; you would say he is not keeping you informed were he to not do so. What use is this man ??? Really ?? He has not gone out of his way to racially divide this country like a recent President who comes to mind. He has cut your taxes. He has strengthened the military which Obama/Biden allowed to slip into a weakened capacity. He has made every effort to untangle us from war expeditions that we have become mired in.The liberal media and people who dislike Trump have stirred the pot constantly with a new allegation (frequently personal in nature and even attacked his family) nearly every day and THAT is the discord you are referring to.and he clearly is mistreated by the press. He has addressed tariffs which have hurt American industry for years to level the playing field. He has addressed border security, which only got lip service for the past 30 years. He has addressed illegal immigration, which has cost this nation BILLIONS of dollars. He has addressed the importance of American Industry making our essentials rather than China since he ran for office and now we see why that is important. He has addressed the economy by reducing regulations which mainly serve to hamper business and the economy has clearly responded. He has addressed unemployment by helping America create jobs and the result is lowest unemployment since probably the sixties.
And he need not try and adjourn the Congress; most are not even there. Where is your fearless leader Nancy Pelosi ? She is locked in her mansion showing off her 32 brands of ice cream that she has in her $10,000 freezer. She certainly is not trying to help out. Shouldn’t a crisis be a time when Americans pull together? It is not HE that is sowing the seeds of discord and you do not have to look far to see who is.
Perhaps you should just make a daily post; “I do not like Donald J Trump” and be done with it.
Now, Ms. Zoe, I cannot write that I “do not like Donald J. Trump.” I do not know the man. I can only judge him by what he says and does. I do not agree with you, but that does not mean that I do not like you. I do not know you. I disagree with your views about Trump, but as a citizen it is your right to express them and I feel fortunate that Louisiana Voice has allowed us a forum to allow us to make known our positions. Our opinions do no harm. But Trump, on the other hand, does harm to us and our country because of his ill-advised beliefs and actions and the fact that he sits in a position of power and has immense influence over others. And every day that he demonstrates his incompetence I will keep posting my comments about him, as I am sure you will too…and please do. Libras believe in balancing things out.

True. But I like reading her posts simply because I’ll know what propaganda and misinformation faux news is pushing.
I suppose it is not at all divisive, or an incitement to “unrest,” for trump – the president of the United States – to tweet “Liberate Michigan/Minnesota/Virginia (and in Virginia to protect the “great Second Amendment”). Trump has admitted he is not the total authority and cannot order states to lift stay at home restrictions. But he can, and did, undermine governors who issued those orders and will extend or ease them according to the situation in their own states. No, not a bit divisive to use revolutionary language like “liberate” when people’s tempers are boiling over while being subjected to the perfectly awful sentence of sheltering from a dread disease in the sanctuary of their own homes.
I am so glad that ZOE replies. It reminds me of my college days. Take a point of view and debate. It matters not the facts but how one presents them. And Zoe does just that wonderfully. I enjoy the aspect presented here as they are so incorrect, virtually all of them, but so well presented, an A in debate or english class, however factchecking….hard to do on a debate stage or in a dorm room exchange, find the premises incorrect, false.
