#1 on Facebook, #1 in his heart.
Another Pres. Peacock lie. It’s not true. He is nowhere close to No. 1.
Trump has 29 million followers on Facebook, far below former President Barack Obama, who has 54 million. Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese soccer player, has 126 million. From AP Fact Check.
It really is sad and deplorable that as soon as he says something it’s necessary to go fact checking to see how many things he said that were false. Although, many of his statements are rather obviously not true and saves us from going any further.
Yes. Since his default is to lie, I just assume he is doing so most of the time – as you say, accepting this saves time otherwise wasted fact-checking.
P. S. This might sound like a vicious attack. It isn’t. It is simply based on experience and documentation. He had lied or misrepresented facts over 16,000 times in January (an average of 5 a day), but I’m not sure the tally is being continued. If it is, he has to be over 20,000 by now, given what he has told us daily during this crisis.
BTW, I don’t consider reading a script word-for-word telling his own lies, though it might sometimes be telling others’.
