“Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart —you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you’re a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.”
—Donald Trump, at campaign event in South Carolina, July 21, 2015 [for the Trump supporters who keep insisting that Joe Biden is losing it].
His supporters love these free associations that include thoughts old and new and allow them to pick what they like among them and ignore the disjointed presentation and the things they might not like.
OK, OK, I surrender. My head hurts from reading this. Will Zoe or some other Trump supporter please translate this “word mess”? The only good thing about it is that we can see exactly how muddled Trump’s mind is. He always comes back around to bragging on himself in some outlandish manner because it is obvious that this is all that matters to himself. But, Trump supporters should let us in on the secret, coded, important message that is surely hidden deep with this and other Trump rants. I know that they are hearing his “real message” here….let us in on it, please!
That’s just sad. As Stephen Winham points out, that’s what his base likes, though. But that doesn’t change that Joe Biden IS losing it….
“We choose unity over division. We choose science over fiction. We choose truth over facts.” — Biden, Aug. 8, 2019.
“Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.” — Biden, Aug. 8, 2019.
Yeah, those are pretty bad. But I think the point is a certain Trump supporter consistently throws dirt on Biden’s gaffs while choosing to overlook Trump’s incoherent ramblings.
Between Trump and Biden, W almost comes off as a dynamic orator.
Agreed. Anyone who appears next to Trump at a press briefing comes off looking very good. I lost my habit of keeping up with Louisiana Voice for the past month or so and was not aware of the context.
aka, word salad
Comparing Joe Biden’s gaffe’s to Trump’s daily lies, falsehoods, misrepresentations, harangues, and confusing diatribes is like comparing an atom to an atomic explosion. Biden’s stutter has affected him since childhood.
According to NYU speech pathologist Eric S. Jackson, “Stuttering can be thought of as a neurobiological ‘glitch’. The speaker knows precisely what he or she wants to say, but in that moment, their body temporarily prevents them from producing speech.” See the movie, The King’s Speech, about King George VI, who had to overcome a speech impediment. Biden knows it and has sometimes called himself the “gaffe machine.” Trump, the peacock, on the other hand, is unable to admit or deal with his psychopathic personality disorder and poses a danger not only to the country, but to the world as well.
Agreed to some degree. But I was not doing a “What About Biden.” Now that I know the context I can see why I got this reaction, though. Still, Biden’s gaffes seem to reveal some deeply held ideas that are troubling. Trump is not even worth discussing. The one good thing about having to stay home these days is that I no longer have to interact with any of his base and put up with their Great Leader adulation.
Too bad Donald is not half as smart as his uncle Dr. John. And he proves that every time he opens his mouth.
For those of us non Trump supporters, I think you would find yesterday’s column by Frank Bruni of the New York Times titled “Has Anyone Found Trump’s Soul? Anyone?” to be as well stated as anything as anything I have read in a very long time.
And this recap of yesterday’s Presidential Apprentice reality TV show (and, unfortunately this show is real):

Please see the latest that the Federal Govertment had Abbot send high capacity testing machines (aprox 140) across the country that by now could have tested EVERY healthcare worker in the country, but mostly they have not been in use. Oh a phone call last nite with the lab managers to discuss. Why not a much earliler federal checkup or tech with each machine to make sure they are understood and operating?. This disclosed right after President Trump states their efforts were so great that the world was going to study the administrations testing response for excellence. (I did not personally see that blowhard comment) This is a total federal govertment failure along with all the other federal underperformance aspects directly attributalbe to this administration’s legal, political and scientific attitudes, affecting personnel competency, staffing and lack there of, and their final performance. It is reasinable to believe Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx worked for the previous administration and possibly many before them. However if a compentent Inspector General has worked for a previous administration even appointed by a republican they must be suspect and dismissed…. Only makes sense if one is trying to hide the failures in one’s performance….say what you knew, when you knew, and what decisions you made….
