Paul Bartels, when he was an Advocate reported on the city hall beat, told me that the worst thing any reporter could do is quote a politician verbatim. You are certainly proving that correct.

I was a reporter for the State-Times while Paul was with The Advocate. I had lunch with him a few months ago.
Could we please get a Trump supporter to translate this quote for us?
says the guy who has NEVER had to work for a (too small) paycheck. Completely out of touch, common sense and compassion.
Promises, promises. Trump says it – it’s done! Wrong. It’s still being worked out in Congress, but while he speaks of “done, getting done” citizens expect it to get done. False hopes perpetuated on the public. Tell us when it IS done. We are US citizens expect our government to respond to its citizens first and foremost, not corporations, wall street, Trump’s own working businesses or cruise ships unregistered in this country. They travel under different flags of their country. Even if it passes Congress it will probably be weeks maybe months before any US citizen sees a dime. On another note, who would have thought that our groceries would have been our first line of defense within the community for those who are well. Yes, those individuals who make minimum – non essential – wage. Think twice of those (non-essential) personnel working outside of hospitals which barely make ends meet are there for us in the grocery stores working long hours stacking shelves so we may peruse the aisles in search of bleach, meat, alcohol, disinfectant wipes, Purell, water, etc. Do you now believe they deserve a living wage? There are many, not in Congress who our very lives depend upon. Thank them.
