“We went back and forth, then we fell in love. He wrote me beautiful letters, and they’re great letters. We fell in love.”
—Creepy Donald Trump, on his June 2018 meeting with North Korea’s “pretty smarty cookie” Kim Jong Un.
“Get rid of them. You don’t have this problem in Russia. We have it, you don’t.”
—Donald Trump, to Vladimir Putin on freedom of the press, June 28, 2019.
“He’s the head of a country, and I mean he’s the strong head. Don’t let anyone think anything different. He speaks, and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same.”
—Donald Trump, on Kim Jong Un, June 2018.
Zoe? Fairness? Outlaw?
All of this evidence of Trump’s dysfunction and corruption is helpful in feeling confident that Trump is a danger to America…..However, all we really have to do is watch/listen to his Daily Reality TV Virus Press Conference Show” to witness first-hand and in real time just how much trouble we are actually facing…Trump’s day has come and he is failing himself and all of us!
Stephen, Don’t you know a media hoax when you see one that maligns our great leader? Better yet, the Democrats are coming, the Democrats are coming, the Democrats are coming!! It’s their fault that such words were associated with our King-in-Chief.
We are in a leadership void that is now an abyss. Wake up people!
Yes. Is there no one out there who will defend this how great thou art President from these Democrats???
Total fascist
“I want MY PEOPLE to do the same (sit up at attention when he speaks).”
What a disgusting attitude for an American president toward the American people. We are not his people. We the People do not belong to any political entity.
His people are the sycophants who surround him and any folks in “the base” who still think of him as their leader. The rest of us are our own people. The US government has been operating for three years under fear of angering trump. Including HHS secretary Azar who tried to warn trump and the White House of the looming coronavirus pandemic in January, and was rebuffed, so as not to anger trump. So he backed off. Those are his people.
American people are an independent breed, for the most part. We may identify WITH ideas, parties and politicians, but no one should take for granted that we belong TO anyone. That statement riled me up in June 2018 and it obviously riles me up now. Now we see that the result of his people in responsible positions putting trump over party, country and the best interest of the American people is literally a matter of life and death.
Good article here at NYT about how the conservatives in La laughed and made jokes about covid 19 until one of theirs was hit with it.
It’s not behind a paywall but you’ll have to register to read it.
She saw her friends making jokes on social media about the coronavirus — eye-roll emojis, Fox News talking points, Rush Limbaugh quotes writing off the threat. And then one person asked if anyone really had this thing.
Evidence of corruption ? You must be referring to previous administrations. Trump will likely be one of the few Presidents to leave office poorer than when elected.Certainly was not true of Obama’s or Clinton’s.
Romney – Fascist ? Really. Do you even know what that means ?
Trump is not a politician in the sense of say, Hillary- who is so guarded in what she says. Trump just says what is on his mind at the moment. I certainly wish he were not so transparent; he twitters every thought immediately. Joe Biden comes to mind – as soon as he gets off script,he says something moronic. I know Stephen that that is your guy, and you would rather have a President who is slipping into dementia over Trump, and that is your business, and I admire your support for the handicapped.
I would rather have a President who is making an effort to deal with crazies like Kim Un than to ignore the real threat like many of our past Presidents. If Trump thinks flattery helps, so what.? Is better than ignoring a real threat.
And CJ, we have seen the “best” the Democrat Party was able to put forward,. And we are down to a man who praises the USSR and Cuba as working for their citizens, and a man who is rarely sure of where he is on a given day.. Yup. This would be a great improvement!. And AS, I am sure you are aware than CNN and MSNBC, ABC have all been outed from within for refusal to report anything positive re. the President.
I am still waiting to hear what is so great about the Democrat platform that we should all get behind and so far, all I hear is Trump is destroying democracy (How, pray tell), that he is dysfunctional (really, he is a billionaire, are you?), that he is fascist (I note that Antifa is democrat and they are fascist), that he is in love with Putin(Trump has put more sanctions on Russia than anyone and is killing their economy (Iran’s as well), Eisenhower admired many accomplishments of Nazi Germany, but that did not mean he was a Nazi sympathizer.
Yes, let us support a candidate that wants to kill the economy of Texas, La, and Oklahoma. Let us support a candidate that actually believes that “the Green Deal” is a worthy goal. Let us get behind a candidate that wants to kill even more babies. Let us get behind a candidate that has no problems with personal and family capitalizing on their positions, let us remove basic American rights like freedom of speech and gun ownership, let us get behind a candidate who will put us all on welfare so they can control us. Let us get behind a candidate that wants bureaucrats to make decisions about our lives. Let us get behind a candidate that believes we can allow anyone who wants to come here do so without obeying our laws or customs, allow illegals to vote, to have citizen benefits, to be Americans without the drawbacks like taxes. Let us pay off college debts so our young will learn responsibility. Let us GUARANTEE an income to everyone, whether they work or not. Let us raise minimum wage to $15/hour so even more jobs are eliminated.. The democrat platform is being set by the likes of Ocasio Cortez; This girl has not one lick of common sense.
I wish you guys would spend a little less time making fun of the President (whom we all know you hate) and more time offering positive solutions to real American problems. What I see is people complaining but not suggesting anything positive. Where are all these wonderful democrats? Let us discuss their platforms and see what is so positive about them. And really, Joe Biden is a solution ? Now, that is a joke. Corn Pop ! Hairy legs ! Unwanted attention to how many women ? Good luck with that as your candidate.
Zoe, it was Congress that imposed the sanctions on Russia; Trump opposed them. In fact, he was furious.
And just what does your lengthy screed have to do with the three quotes by Trump cited in this post? You’re trying to throw up the typical smokescreen of blaming someone else–ANYONE else–for Trump’s blunders. You can only justify so much and then you start repeating yourself, as you now do with great regularity.
Please read the book A Warning by anonymous. Anonymous because the author is a Trump appointee who came to his/her job with plenty of hope and anticipation but has now seen Trump for what he is – a rumbling, stumbling, bumbling fool – and is now disillusioned and is trying to warn the country of what he is doing with our alliances, our security, our defense, and yes, our economy which, by the way, he inherited from Obama who had to pull the country out of a deep recession. If you look at the stock market (before the coronavirus induced decline), you will see that the percentage of growth by the DOW was greater during Obama’s administration than Trump’s. Those are cold, hard facts, not political B.S.
Oh, Ms. Zoe, I don’t know you, but you must be precious. As is your commentary. You have given me so many chuckles. Thank you.
This is what we have representing us in Congress and I am certain it crosses party lines.https://kprcradio.iheart.com/featured/the-pursuit-of-happiness/content/2020-03-20-wtf-dianne-i-employed-a-chinese-spy-feinstein-also-sold-all-her-stock/?fbclid=IwAR073E1BYZHq_-yvWATBGbBpkl8siYEVMPh9rGOeA7MQboMb4FQYu_8q25c
This is what we should be worried about.
And as for the virus….where is the United Nations ? The WHO ? We spend billions propping up these organizations and they should be the ones on top of these pandemics. But you can bet, no one will censure China for covering this up until it got out of hand.
You doing a bit of cherry picking, Zoe? You are quick to point out that Dianne Feinstein dumped her stock just before the market cratered—and that was wrong, pure insider trading, and she should be held accountable for it—but you conveniently neglected that three other senators—all Republicans—did the same thing.
https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/488593-four-senators-sold-stocks-before-coronavirus-threat-crashed-market
All four should go to jail, not just Feinstein so, Zoe, be fair with your finger pointing.
And even more:https://www.forbes.com/sites/rachelsandler/2020/03/20/two-senators-sold-off-stock-weeks-before-coronavirus-crashed-the-market/?utm_campaign=forbes&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_term=Gordie%2F&fbclid=IwAR1wXz7o7qaF_xbLVbm_uRPcWmsl14Rj38C0UueoxTfQCvA4btCj2DlRMds#1cec59845fe9
Why not go after these people who obviously are more interested in self preservation and personal welfare than the people they are elected to represent ??!!
Zoe, here are some very simple questions.
Will you please answer them directly, without pointing to the failures you perceive in anything or anybody not mentioned in the questions?
1. How, exactly, do you justify the President’s constant downplaying the importance of the coronavirus’ spread, going so far as to call it a hoax right up to this week – when he suddenly declared he had known all along that it was a pandemic?
2. When asked today (3/20) what he could say to people who are afraid, was President Trump justified in not only refusing to answer, but personally attacking the reporter asking the question?
3. What is the benefit to American citizens of the President’s constant attempts to destroy confidence in the mainstream (i. e., most available sources of news) media by declaring them enemies of the people?
4. Do you personally believe the mainstream media are enemies of the people? If so, what is their motivation?
4. Do you believe the President always tells the truth and has never misrepresented anything to the American people?
5. Do you believe it is unpatriotic for media outlets to report and document the president’s unvarnished words and report on his unambiguous actions if they reflect poorly on him?
5. Do you believe it is okay to attempt to give citizens hope, even if the basis for the hope is not only questionable, but directly contradicted by his own experts?
6. Do you believe it is unpatriotic to not support a president even if you believe him to be harmful to your country?
I could go on and on, but I do wish you would answer these questions without engaging in diversions.
Thanks.
P. S. I will frankly admit I support Joe Biden because he is the presumed opponent of our sitting president and because he has the wisdom necessary to take actions aimed at re-uniting the United States. Is he the sharpest tack in the box? Maybe not, but I believe wisdom and experience can compensate for the effects of aging on mental acuity. Finally, at bottom, I believe he is a decent human being.
“cowards never tell the Truth” WWII Lord Granger, Resistance Phillipines and quoted in Grishams’s The Reckoning’ Most Republicans and particularly our delegation are cowards. They have been successful with stooging Trump with Putin and his oligarchs, and if you ever connect Eric Prince, you will have an audit trail for jail for a few. But Alas, they have God and Clint Eastwood on their saddle pockets. ron thompson
Ron, did Clint jump back over? He had dumped Trump for Bloomberg.
