“I don’t think I’ve made mistakes. Every time somebody said I made a mistake, they do the polls and my numbers go up, so I guess I haven’t made any mistakes.”
—Donald Trump, on Making Mistakes.
“There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down.”
—Donald Trump, making an unfounded accusation regarding the 9/11 attacks (aka a mistake, maybe?)
“Mexico is going to pay for the wall.”
—Donald Trump tweet, Dec. 13, 2018 (another mistake?)
Trump tells lies, which is different from making mistakes. He does purposeful mistakes, aka lies. They’re not the same. Former FBI Director James Comey could write an exceedingly boring m, yet accurate and thorough, essay on this subject, no doubt.
Lie verb (used without object), lied, ly·ing. to speak falsely or utter untruth knowingly, as with intent to deceive. to express what is false; convey a false impression.
A mistake is an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong.
Tom, Trump is such a prolific liar that you will have subject matter for years. But, seriously, this really is a serious matter. No nation can survive being governed by lies and liars. The evidence of this is staggering and frightening.
Is there anything left to be said about this sick narcissist person that has not already been said? His own words are a testimony to his illness. What of his followers? Completely brainwashed.
CJG – I venture to guess that this phenom will be the subject of psychiatric and psychological research for years to come…It is so hard to fathom that 30-40% of Americans are willfully accepting the second-rate TV reality show presidential performance as worthy of their patriotism. The list of things that Trump will be leaving that will need attention for years is just about covering every nook & cranny of our government and forever damaged the stature of our presidency. What a depressing time to be living in American history and we are watching it in real time thanks to mass and social media. I guess we could leave diaries for future generations to read to mark our experiences for prosperity….
