“I think the financial markets are very upset when they look at the Democrat candidates standing on that stage, making fools out of themselves, and they say, ‘If we ever have a president like this…’ When they look at the statements made by the people standing behind those podiums, I think that has a huge effect.”
—Donald Trump, attempting to explain that the Dow’s loss of 1,032 points on Monday and another 870 on Tuesday was the result of the Democratic debate in Charleston, S.C. [The only problem with that theory is that the Charleston debate occurred Tuesday night, several hours after the markets had closed.]
“It looks like the coronavirus is being weaponized as yet another element to bring down Donald Trump. Now, I have to tell you the truth about coronavirus. … Yeah, I’m dead right on this. The coronavirus is the common cold, folks.”
—Congressional Medal of Freedom winner Rush Limbaugh, the medical expert who dropped out of college after only one year, explaining how the coronavirus is nothing more than a sinister plot against the Trump presidency.
There was a really good discussion about our “post-truth” world on NPR yesterday. Distortion and outright lies are the order of the day. Even when the media attempts to find the truth they all too often get lies. Limbaugh has always simply whored himself to his listeners [and is paid very well for doing so – $84.5 million in 2018] and probably doesn’t believe even half of what he says on-air. President Trump seems to prefer lying to telling the truth about pretty much everything and, if his lying is pathological. he gets a kick out of getting away with it.
As our departed friend, C. B. Forgotston might say, “We mullets don’t stand a chance of getting the real truth.” Bob Mann’s former blog was titled, “Something Like the Truth” with that same implication. How can we trust anything our President tells us about anything, including something like what could become a pandemic? During the great influenza of 1918, President Wilson withheld information the public could have used because he did not want to distract from the war effort. It can reasonably be said that many people died as a result, including many of our troops.
I now view Kellyanne Conway’s assertion that the administration has “alternate facts” to those the media reports in a whole new light. I think I see what she means.
Pence’s efforts to control the virus:
“In an effort to combat further fragmented messaging, Pence moved to seize control of all federal communications on the virus, requiring Cabinet officials and government experts to get clearance from his office before making public remarks, according to two senior administration officials.” [WaPo]
That pretty much puts a lid on us getting information we need since he also has to bolster the President’s insistence on optimism about the whole thing and his need for anything that might negatively affect his re-election to be stifled.
You were wrong about Russian collusion and jumped the shark about Trump being embedded with the Russians. You even wrote a story about him selling his mansion in Florida that “proved” his guilt. When you start with the premise that someone is guilty, you tend to find reasons to make it so. Russians Literally gave the Clintons $145M and made Obama promise “more flexibility” to Vladimir after the election. The last thing Russia wants is a US energy juggernaut, a booming economy, and a revitalized military. (All of which the last 4 Presidents had purposely tanked).
Meanwhile, there are 145k sealed indictments sitting in the federal courts, probably containing names that have screamed the loudest about made up collusion, phony hoaxes, and man made distractions. What are they screaming for? Why did they promise Impeachment hours after Trump’s inauguration? Why did Hillary declare that if Trump won, they’d all hang by nooses? Treason possibly?
Sorry, but you are smarter than the crap you post about Trump. They are wagging the dog and you are taking the training treats. Bark. Bark!
Keep believing in your Dear Leader. But the facts speak for themselves and the facts plainly show that Dear Leader has always been “embedded with the Russians,” and the sale of that Florida mansion was nothing more than Russian money laundering, plain and simple.
And you keep referencing those 145k sealed indictments. just where do you get that information, from Info Wars? I’d really love to know, so I can be on the lookout for them. Please provide a link to your source.
But meanwhile, you keep drinking that kool aid.
What is “fairness2014” talking about?
Beats me. Something about some fictional 145,000 “secret indictments.” I’m not sure if he realizes the magnitude of such numbers. With 145,000 indictments, none of us—including the imaginary defendants—could possibly live long enough to see them all prosecuted. Excluding illegal immigration, the number of criminal indictments has been averaging about 30,000 per month. That’s for 50 states, which equates to about 6,000 per month per state. Assuming the indictments Fairness refers to are concentrated in Washington, New York and possibly Florida, you’re looking about an average of about 50,000 in each of those three locations—in addition to those already cited and illegal immigration cases. Talk about overloading the court dockets!
Like Doremus, I’d love to see the source of his data.

Thank you, Thomas….although, I fear that your attention to details and the breakdowns on the numbers is WAY to far above the level where “fairness2014” is dwelling and this is, indeed, very sad…
