“I’ve been around for a long time and it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans.”
—Donald Trump, CNN interview, 2004 (Disclaimer: This is not the start of a debate or an endorsement of any political party; it is simply a verbatim statement by Trump.)
Well, even a serial liar gets one right every now and then….the Law of Averages or some such?
If he ever heard it, Trump could counter with Ralph Waldo Emerson – “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.” He could also go to Marty Rubin, “Self-contradiction is the most fruitful kind of contradiction.” Or, he could quote Neil Donald Walsh, “Life is a continual flow of events, streaming in from the universal stream of consciousness in such a way that it exactly matches our own stream of consciousness.” That last one might come closest to his reality.
In my younger days, I once wrote a Letter to the Editor of our local newspaper. A good friend told me, “That was a very good letter….but, it is way above the heads of the folks that need to read it!” She was so right. Not saying the same about your post….but, there are those that support Trump that could never wade thru your wonderful references….sadly. I would say “all of the above” apply to Trump!
But the problem with the last quote you cite, Mr. Winham, is Trump could never string that many words together in a cohesive sentence.
It’s about time you partisans figure out that both parties suck. Stop the nonsense.
