“I think Ken Starr is a lunatic, I really think that Ken Starr is a disaster. I really think that Ken Starr was terrible.”
—Donald Trump, discussing the man who Trump would ultimately choose to defend him in his impeachment trial, in 1999 MSNBC interview.
“Starr’s a freak. I bet he’s got something in his closet.”
—Donald Trump, on Kenneth Starr in a 1999 New York Times interview.
But…Ken Starr is perfect for a “Trump TV Reality Impeachment Trial Show!” Right? Fits in perfectly with what McConnell has cued up…
Any day now, I expect Trump to tell us how great he is by announcing he can fly. Perhaps he will jump out of a window on the 58th floor of the Trump Tower and prove it to us.
CJG…unfortunately Trump never has to prove anything. He just moves on to his next lie, secure in his protection by his Republican duly elected “public servants…”
to GJG:
No such luck!
Is anyone else mystified by ANYONE hiring as their lawyer, for the legal defense of a lifetime, a guy who was fired as president of a prestigious university, for covering up multiple sexual assaults on women students by athletes?
Well Earthmother, here’s the thing: it was a Baptist university, after all, and the evangelicals adore Mr. Trump…and if politics makes strange bedfellows, that apparently goes double for the flag waving Bible thumpers.
And if you really think about it, Mr. Starr was pretty sanctimonious about Clinton’s lying about a BJ but not about Trump lying about EVERYTHING – so long as he does his song and dance for the evangelical base.
Granted, that’s rather convoluted logic, but we’re not talking about a president known for his mature, logical thought processes.
