“When it comes to steaks, I’ve just raised the stakes. Trump Steaks are the world’s greatest steaks, and I mean that in every sense of the word.”
—The Sharper Image promotional video, 2007.
“For years, people have been telling me how much they enjoy the steaks in my casino and resort restaurants. And it’s no wonder why. All the words in the world can’t begin to describe the pleasure of biting into one of these succulent, sizzling, mouth-watering steaks…One bite and you’ll be back for more.”
—Official website for Trump Steaks, “The World’s Greatest Steaks.” Trump Steaks (like his vodka, Trump Airlines, Trump Magazine, Trump University, Trump Travel, Trump Mortgage, Trump casinos, Trump: the Game, Trump Ice, The Trump Network, Trump on the Ocean restaurant/catering hall, Tour de Trump bicycle races, and the New Jersey Generals football team), died a quiet death a year later. That’s 14 business failures (17, if you count the casino bankruptcies individually), in case you’re counting.
Just wondering if Trump supporters still think these Trump businesses are booming and making bigly money? Do they feel a tiny bit concerned that some businesses (Trump University) have had to pay fines for fraud as well as going out of business? In other words do Trump supporters ever really think about the absolute failures of this man? Just wondering…
Ms. Herring, I have asked myself countless times how his supporters can be so blind to his lies, deceit, duplicity, and all his other harmful rhetoric and actions. Simply, they are brainwashed. And I do not say this lightly. For an excellent explanation I suggest going to this website:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidalm/2016/03/25/review-the-brainwashing-of-my-dad-a-new-film-on-the-human-impact-of-right-wing-media/#1bf303f54a72
You may have to copy it and paste it to Google or Bing, but after reading this review of a 1916 documentary “The Brainwashing of My Dad,” by Jen Senko, I think you will understand how “media outlets like Fox News can literally brainwash otherwise reasonable, intelligent people.” Note also that in 1987 the FCC lifted a policy called the Fairness Doctrine “and just like that holders of broadcast licenses were no longer required to present issues in a way deemed honest, equitable and balanced by the Commission. Rush Limbaugh’s AM radio show went national the following year.”
It put things in perspective for me.
How will we ever overcome this? If we are governed by lies and liars and they are supported by their brainwashed. Us brainwashing ever undone??
Edith I hope you and CJG do not do anything bad to your self in 2020 when he goes in four more years.
I see Mr. Sidbury continues to bring nothing constructive to the discussion…just more meaningless insults of others. James, why don’t you offer some real reasons why you believe Trump should be re-elected? And please, be specific; don’t generalize with trite claims like “he’s doing what he said he’d do.” That’s too vague and only used by those who are unable to think for themselves or to come up with legitimate reasons. Also, don’t use the stock market’s performance—the stock market has been gaining steadily since June 2009.
We’re waiting…
Well Mr Jessup, among the best reasons I can cite are his feeble opposition candidates. Poor Biden can not remember which state he is in and cannot tell the difference in Iran and Iraq (speech just last night), Ms Warren wants to give everyone everything for free with no means to pay for it (same as Bernie), The ex-mayor of South Bend and his husband, well, I will leave that alone, None of them provide an ounce of leadership. Plus, except for Pete, they are all millionaire socialist hypocrites.
Now, what has Trump done? He has placed massive deregulation which has unchained American industry. He has passed a massive tax cut, which has created an upsurge in consumer spending,. The Stock market was rising, and unemployment dropping when he took office, but has surged upwards and set approximately 30 record highs NEVER before seen. Unemployment is the lowest in 50+ years. The labor participation rate is the highest in approx 50 years. He has made our allies cough up their share for their defense. He has notified the U N of the same thing. He got us out of a treaty with Iran that gave us zero safeguards against nuclear proliferation. He killed two major agents or terror. He got us out of a costly “climate Accord” which only cost us money while at the same time doing nothing to our biggest polluters (China, Asia in general, India). He has caused a new NAFTA treaty which benefits USA. He has balances tariffs with out trading partners which has helped balance foreign trade. He has brought auto factories back to USA. He has not bowed to Arab kings. He has not given pallets of cash to terrorist nations. He has not sold guns to drug cartels.
You do realize that once you hit rock bottom, there is no where else but up.And, in all fairness, Obama never held a leadership position, never ran a business, never really held a job, so he was at a complete disadvantage and had to rely on “experts”, mostly from academic background with zero real world experience.
Now what exactly did Obama done in 8 years other than to triple his net worth ? What did Hillary accomplish as a U S Senator ? What did she accomplish as Secretary of State ?
Trump has done more in 3 years than the past 4 Presidents combined (Both Bush’s, Clinton, and Obama).
And Edith, yes he has failed in business several times, but he is, in fact, a billionaire. Until any of us are in his financial league, we should not be so quick to denigrate his business aptitude..He donates his Presidential salary to charity. He will lose net worth while in office, which is more than we can say for Clinton or Obama. And CJG, thank God the Clinton’s or Obama never were deceitful !
Yawn. Zoe, you sound like a broken record with your blind faith in this man who has no more interest in your welfare than…oh, say, Putin. You probably would’ve placed the same faith in Jim Jones.
Besides, you butted in. I asked Mr. Sidbury, not you, to respond. I wanted to see what he could bring to the table. We’ve heard from you ad nauseam.
