(Thanks to an alert reader who pointed this out to us):
So, Frump wants to do an end run around the Constitution and declare that children born in this country to immigrant parents do not have the right to citizenship.
If he’s successful, an executive order to that effect would give him the power to deport all such residents of the U.S.
- Bobby Jindal was in his mother’s womb when his parents came to this country.
- He was subsequently born to immigrant parents who were not yet citizens of the U.S.
- He could, at least theoretically, instantly become a non-citizen, subject to deportation.
Just sayin’.
Uh oh.
Jindal is brown! And he has criticized dear leader. So, begone!
Because you just know the EO will only apply to brown people from sh–thole countries, not to Eastern Europeans, Scandinavians, or the Russians who buy/rent overpriced trump properties in Florida, then occupy those housing units while pregnant, giving birth in the US to Russian anchor babies.
For those who want to question sources, we start with a Fox “News’” report:

At least craft legislation that would require Little bobby’s deportation. And while you’re at it, make Trump’s children born to non-native born mothers subject to deportation.
If we take this idea back to the logical conclusion of going back a few generations, no one will be left in America except “Native Americans.” trump does realize his own mother was illegal, having overstayed a visa, til she married his father, son of immigrants?
Actually, Mary Trump was not here on a visitor visa; when she entered the country, she declared in her immigration paperwork that she intended to remain permanently, and came here seeking a job. So there’s not really any evidence that she “overstayed” any visa. I hate the thought of defending Hair Furor but this is one area that is really hard to find fault with.

Okay, argument over about whether this can be done – The Trump News Network (font of all non-fake Trump news) has declared it constitutional for him to end birthright citizenship unilaterally via executive order. So let it be written, so let it be done.
If he succeeds we might all take a cue from avid gun rights advocates who fear any suppression of the current private rights by citizens to bear arms violates the 2nd amendment and will quickly lead to government seizure of all guns from every citizen (except the criminals, of course).
If Trump is able to take this step with regard to citizenship, what’s next? Are we on a very slippery slope toward a country where the president is able to do anything he wants regardless of the constitution or any other laws? Might this even include taking away everybody’s guns if he wakes up one morning and decides it’s a good idea?
I have to admit I was at least one of the people who tipped Tom to his angle here about Jindal and I wish I could actually find humor in it, but I have reached the point where I find no humor in anything about our president and I don’t see a day when I will.
Jindal’s parents were here legally, therefore, “Under The Law,” so Jindal is a legal U.S. Citizen. Trump is following our Constitution by not granting citizenship to illegals.
Like everything else Trump does, he’s long on rhetoric and short on specifics with his executive order. He makes no distinction between those who come here legally and those who are illegal. This from USA Today:
“President Donald Trump said in an interview that he plans to sign an executive order ending ‘birthright citizenship’ for the children of non-American citizens who are born on U.S. soil, a move that would likely be challenged immediately in the courts over its constitutionality.”

The 14th Amendment was adopted on July 9, 1868, as one of the Reconstruction Amendments granting citizenship to slaves, and their children following the Civil War.
The Amendment addresses the citizenship rights, and equal protection under the laws, and was only added for the inclusion of all former slaves, and their children.
Without a doubt, it was not the intent of the framers of this Amendment, that it would somehow be twisted at a latter date in history to allow for the inclusion of any, and every Criminal Illegal Alien, or any Illegal Alien for that matter a route to American citizenship.
It is my personal view, that President Trump has every right to strike this Amendment down by Executive Order, and true, the law suits will fly, but at the end of the day, the U.S. Supreme Court will uphold the Presidents Executive Order.
Why ? Because it is blatantly obvious, that this Amendment was never intended to apply to illegal aliens, and certainly not the criminal kind, and 2nd. Conservatives now hold the majority on the U.S. Supreme Court, but more than that, the 14th Amendment was never intended to be used as it has been.
I honestly think some brighter legal minds behind President Trump are pushing this, knowing full well any Executive Order blocking immigration, and anchor-babies, will swiftly be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, resulting in a win-win situation for the Trump Administration, and also a major win for all of us that are opposed to letting anything, and everything enter into our country illegally, and become U.S. citizens.
This foolishness must be stopped at some point, or our own country will go the way of the very third world countries these people are fleeing from.
End the free ride. Where else do you get to have a baby and it become an instant citizen? Those of us who work and pay taxes foot the bill and you might want to spend your money that way, but look at what it has gotten us?
I guess I’m confused. Please explain how a “birthright citizen” – child bon in the US – gets a free ride and costs taxpayers’ money, any more than children of native born parents. I get public school, but what else are we paying for when babies have non-American parents?
Yes, earthmother, you are confused. 😉
Marcus, answer the question. Earthmother asked how “birthright” children born in this country cost any more than native born. I’m not taking sides here but if you’re going to respond to someone who asked a question, answer the damned question. Don’t just rattle off some nonsensical tripe.
Or are you at a loss for words when it comes to intelligent responses?
Again, just asking as a completely impartial observer.
Aww, give her a break, Marcus Rogers. She doesn’t understand that the free ride is all the public assistance that comes with that a “birthright citizen” lotto win! Sure, there are a lot of freeloaders who are US citizens that don’t pay taxes but are on the dole, but hey, at least they are citizens. Try to drop a baby on some other country’s doorstep and see if they get citizenship, or even a free cigar for the new papa.
Well at least C Fowler attempted to answer the question, which is more than Marcus did. However, C Fowler, I have to ask your position on all the corporate welfare that completely eclipses any welfare benefits for “birthright” children and other welfare cheats. And I do mean totally. The welfare cheats account for only a fraction of what Exxon, big pharma, and hundreds, if not thousands, of corporations who take advantage of tax loopholes to avoid taxes. G.E. makes billions and pays zero in taxes. In fact, G.E. gets a rebate on taxes it doesn’t even pay.
So, C Fowler and Marcus, you have to look at the total picture. You’re concerned about a few bucks, relatively speaking, that “birthright” children get while Trump’s tax “reform” has resulted in a national deficit that has skyrocketed. You can’t get around that fact, no matter how many caravans Trump tries to stop with troops.
Bottom line: any impact on our economy by illegal immigrants is minuscule compared to the billions and billions ripped off by corporations and political appointees.
Again, I repeat, I have no dog in this hunt but fair is fair and facts are facts. Please do not focus on just one issue when there are so many others being obscured by scare tactics and hysteria.
And just so you know, I voted for Reagan, both Bushes, McCain, Romney, Ford and (regrettably) Nixon, but could not, would not vote for Trump. If he runs and gets the nomination, I’d vote for Kasich. I couldn’t stand Hillary, despised her, repulsed by her, but still had to vote for her.
That’s how bad Trump is.
