Apparently, this was on her Facebook page.
That appears to be the Russian spelling of her name
to the top right of this 2014 photo, taken at an NRA convention.
(Full disclosure: Butina approached Jindal to ask him to pose for a photo. He did not know her and had never met her, though he was informed she was Russian and supported the NRA which apparently had no problem with her support.)
A lovely couple, indeed 🙂
Oh my, Jindal was really “stepping in high cotton” as they used to say. What is the Republican fascination with Russia?
“What is the Republican fascination with Russia?”
The same that Hillary had when she had a red “Reset” button in 2009, a reset button that apparently failed, and the same fascination when she sold a huge stake of the American uranium production to some Russian oligarch, and the same fascination when her women abuser husband Bill took a fee of 500K for a small chat in Moscow, and the same fascination when the Clinton Foundation took millions of dollars from Russian oligarchs (no, no.. it was not to purchase influence, no – not at all, it was because Russian oligarchs care about the poor and downtrodden…, yes).
And not to forget… the same fascination that John Brennan had when he voted for the Communist Party USA, and, let’s not forget, the same fascination that Bernie Sanders had when he went on his honey moon to the Soviet Union, and was mesmerized by it.
It seems that Russian fascination is spread all over.
One should also examine the activities of one Jill Stien, the 2016 Green Party presidential candidate. The fascination with Russia is not limited to the Republican party.

No, Democrats don’t have any connections to the Russians. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paulroderickgregory/2017/02/18/no-one-mentions-that-the-russian-trail-leads-to-democratic-lobbyists/#11f71c0a3991
So it should be abundantly clear by now that no one is immune. Republican, Democrat, and now the Green Party. Should this not be grounds for legitimate concern for everyone that the US is truly vulnerable to cyber attack, hacking, backroom deals all around?
So why are we pointing fingers at each other when there should be one united front demanding change, change that can begin with the 2018 elections?
Drain the flipping swamp!
Actually, I am very close to agreeing with you.
But – at least for me – this begs the question of why exactly Robert Mueller is only investigating Trump and his alleged collusion. Why is he not investigating the Obama Administration (starting with former President Obama) and its failure to prevent the Russian Meddling, and why is Mueller not investigating Bill and Hillary Clinton and their dealings with the Russians?
Because if we want to clean house, let us clean it evenly.
^^^^ What D.Munson said!
If he did not know who she was, why post the pic and try to make it seem as if he knew he was taking a picture with a rumored spy? The man is no longer the Governor, thank God, let him disappear into the sunset!!
That’s the problem, they don’t stay gone.
Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall any of his predecessors calling the free press “an enemy of the people.” I think he actually used the term “media”, but what is the free press if not the media and freedom of the press is and should be sacrosanct. Look at the countries where it is suppressed. Do you want to live in such a country? And, who are the media, after all? Now that his darling Fox has been forced to report some of his actions for what they unambiguously are, I guess they are now also part of the “fake news” he wants everybody to ignore. And, if so, where are we to get our news? 100% from him and his chosen few?
Why can’t you people who blindly support this man see this, if no other, danger? Again how does what Obama or anybody else did excuse his lying, conniving, and treasonous acts? Surely, even the most devout among you cannot excuse absolutely everything he does or says. Or can you?
The answer to the question “Why can’t you people who blindly support this man see this”, is that “they” are to busy drinking the toilet water he’s putting out. Plain, simple, end of story. Trump’s supporters have not “matured” to the fact that Obama’s gone, Hillary’s gone, the entire Obama administration is gone and fail to recognize the axiom two wrongs simply never make a right. Benghazi was investigated for two years, thank you, Trey Gowdy, spending millions of dollars result: no indictments. The Clinton server controversy investigated by the FBI, most of whom were and are Republicans, nothing, zero, nada. “News reports indicated that while some of the emails contained information that the government considered classified to the highest levels, the information was “innocuous” and not “particularly sensitive” because the emails discussed matters that were simultaneously available in the public domain—such as in newspapers—but the government “owning agency” that acquired that same information by secret means maintains and enforces the classification status nevertheless”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Clinton_email_controversy
Yet, ardent Trump supporters sparked on by Trump, maintain such controversies as justification for Trump’s actions and attitudes. Again, citing one “persevered wrong” as justification for another wrong is in and of itself wrong. Just like Trump, Alex Jones or Rush Limbaugh, such attitudes play to the base elements of society, failing in producing productive growth in the body politic.
I agree with Mr. Winham and add, the JIndalites are not going away, and neither will our neighbors who will lie with Trump, because they know the funding strains. Gotta take the high road , love them but you sure as hell do not have to like them. love always ron thompson
Yes Stephen, you missed it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Department_of_Justice_investigations_of_reporters
Even Wikipedia has an entry.
Also, there is a book by Kimberly Strassel of the Wall Street Journal, called “The Intimidation Game”.
As for lying and conniving… well, I remember the days when the Obama Administration blamed a video producer for the attack on the Benghazi consulate, when the IRS was “investigating” conservative non-profits, when Eric Holder was acting as Obama’s personal consigliere instead of a true Attorney General. And not to speak that Obama and his lieutenants slept through the whole Russian Meddling thing.
So yes, Stephen, you missed it.
And by the way, for anybody who slept through the Obama Administration, like Stephen Winham, I recommend to read Kimberley Strassel’s article in today’s Wall Street Journal (Friday, July 20), “Brennan and the 2016 Spy Scandal”. So yes, I have very serious problems with the Obama Administration handling of certain things, before I completely condemn the Trump Administration.
I guess I am not typing English, but, again, what Obama or anybody else did does not excuse what Trump is doing for himself and to this country. I don’t know any other way to say it except maybe in Spanish:
Lo que Obama u otra persona hizo no excusa lo que Trump ha hecho por sí mismo y por nuestro país.
I would try to translate it into Russian, but I don’t see how that could make it any clearer.
P. S. Not to split hairs and, again, in plain English:
Criticizing the media for certain actions is different from repeatedly calling it an “enemy of the people.” I’m sure Tichy and others will disagree and say this is a subtle difference, but it is far, far from it to anybody capable of any objectivity.
