“I believe that we are witnessing a complete disregard of the legislative branch’s powers by this administration.”
“Since our adjournment in June, there has been almost a billion dollars in reductions to the state budget without any input from the legislature.”
“This is how I look at the situation: we can either continue to stand by and allow the administration (to) amend the budget or we can do what we were elected to do–represent our constituents.”
–State Rep. Jerome “Dee” Richard (I-Thibodaux), in his call Wednesday to fellow lawmakers to call a special session of the legislature to take back legislative powers which have been usurped by Gov. Piyush Jindal.

Articles of Impeachment would be more appropriate.
Are they finally awake or are we all dreaming?
Keep pushing “Dee”, to call for a special session to end this complete administration takeover without legislative authority by this administration’s dictatorship.
so, jindal is privatizing all these government
services. I better see one hell of a decrease
in my state taxes…. I mean… He is
bragging about reducing the size of
government, right? (yay! 1000s of people
lost their jobs, insurance and retirement! Happy day!!)…
something jindal can be proud of!!!
You will never see a reduction in your taxes no matter how much he cuts. The exception is obviously the rich and corporations.
By not protecting what the legislature should have oversight of they have implicitly given those powers to Jindal. This leaves our state with a judicial and executive branch with a figurehead legislature like what you see in third world dictatorships. THIS CANNOT STAND. When a branch of government fails its people then the people have a right and a responsibility to correct it. Everyone who reelects a representative or senator who has allowed this to happen on his or her watch is just as guilty.
