“We have big challenges and need to have a substantive debate about the issues. It’s unfortunate and surprising that someone would stoop this low to try and win.”
–Gov. Jindal’s Communications Director Kyle Plotkin, commenting on the Facebook identity theft of Jindal’s Deputy Chief of Staff Kristy Nichols, though he may well have applied those words to tactics employed by the administration regarding SB51, the retirement bill that requires employees to work to age 67.
We have to remember that the administration’s idea of a substantive debate is the one the governor has with himself in front of the mirror. No one else’s opinion counts.
Oh so true, Advocate. Oh so true.
The citizens of this state would also like a substantive debate on this issue, but if that committee hearing was any evidence, then the chances of that are snowballs in Louisiana August. “By golly, that derned lawyer that was hired was from Texas, and thereby unqualified to speak to issues in Louisiana, not to mention he may have represented other pensioners seeking redress.” If this is what passes for careful consideration and analysis then we’re doomed. This administration–including its appointees and its elected lackeys–are making a mockery of democracy.
It was damned embarassing wasn’t it?
Oh, the irony of Plotkin’s remark! Classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. As a so-called communications director, his remark confesses ignorance of the Jindal agenda. And someone used the Jindal divide and conquer tactic on Kristi Nichols.
I bet she really posted it. Its always convenient to claim that they were hacked.
