“I wanted you to hear it from me that I will be a friend and supporter of both state employees and retirees.”
“I do not believe we should punish people for working, and certainly do not believe teachers and state workers in Louisiana should be singled out for penalty.”
“Any statements to the contrary are simply false.”
–Piyush Jindal, in a 2007 campaign brochure in which he attempted to ingratiate with state workers but instead only succeeded in prostituting himself for votes.

So…that’s what passes for legislating? We’ve got a bill. We don’t know what’s in it exactly, but the governor’s office harpies give their word that they will work with whomever to fix whatever might need fixin’. That’s good enough for me. To the floor! What a FARCE! “Lousy-ana” indeed.
No one, including the Legislatures understood what Kristy Nichols and the other two of Jindal’s Administrators were saying when explaining the bill. I think they were trying to confuse the legislatures and they did a good job. It was unbelievable. The representatives seemed to be ok with being confused because they approved the bill without understanding it. This is unbelievable. Three different Attorneys said the bill was unconstitutional and the bill still passed. We are in for big trouble.
What we saw today, and have seen this session, is deplorable. As someone who worked at the legislature I am more ashamed at how much of a blind eye our reps and senators turn away. They passed SB51 out of committee today without knowing exactly what it did AND after being told by their own legislative staff (legislative auditor) that the bill probably was unconstitutional and would lead to costly lawsuits. Have we really become so callous towards affecting the lives of thousands in passing illegal legislation? Really!?
Piyush Jindal wants Louisiana to be like India. The citizens are either rich or poor in India. There is no room in India for a middle class. It’s called a caste system In his book, he told his mom and dad that he was going to a party but really he was going to church. There is nothing wrong with going to church but it is wrong to lie to your parents about where you are going. He obviously believes that the ends justify the means. Aren’t you glad he is not teaching students? Prof. Piyush would come in with 13 pages of singled-spaced notes and read rapidly to the students and then at the end of the class announce that a test would be given on the fast lecture because they must be accountable for their education.
Dr. Craft, I’ve been theorizing the same thing, that Bombay Bobby is trying to institute the Caste System here in Louisiana. He and his ilk are certainly causing some destruction of the middle class. Whether or not it is willful is in question, but I suspect he doesn’t really care what he destroys as long as he can point to all his accomplishments and take care of his corporate sponsors.
