Folks, apparently our mystery cartoonist feels his work is done. To borrow a term from the late C.B. Forgotston, as long as we have narrow-minded, ambitious “leges” with their own agendas, there will be a need for someone like our mystery cartoonist to poke pins in their overblown egos.
Please join me in encouraging him to remain on his unpaid job. It’s important. You may add your thoughts simply by commenting below.
He can’t stop. No politician is perfect. No matter how great I believe Edwards will be, I’m sure there will be missteps in the administration. There’s always Kennedy and the NGOs. Can you imagine the chaos when the budgets get slashed and the taxes increase?
We need you to stay. Nothing teaches like humor and as long as we have politicians we must have humor.
Given the fact that Louisiana voters rarely vote FOR a candidate to the degree they are voting AGAINST another candidate I suspect we are going to need our mystery cartoonist before long.
When we have the likes of Senator Walsworth of Monroe still espousing “tax neutrality”, we know that we will have lunatics that need exposing. So please Mystery Cartoonist, stay available to assist our cadre of political bloggers. But for y’all we would sink to the bottom of the pile. Okay, we’re at the bottom of the pile, but at least stick around to keep our legislators, et al, from digging the hole any deeper.
I have lived in Louisiana all of my life and I can promise that Louisiana politics is always fodder for political cartoons. I hope that it will be different now, but I am afraid that it will be the same play, just different actors.
Please continue the wonderfully accurate and thoroughly enjoyable cartoons. You will be missed.
Jindal will still be around. We will always have Gene Mills and his followers.
Sorry to see it was for Jindal only content. There is so much more that could be done. With Louisianans inundated by conservative talk radio affiliate station propaganda, there’s one subject that could take a big hit.
I’d like to see him do one more in the theme of “Big Brother Radio” with Sinclair’s 1984 picture of same and a listing of the major affiliate stations in Louisiana. Bye bye Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and what seems to be one of the local favorites, Joe Pags’ non-stop nonsense.
This stuff plays on and on here and the local dimwits use it as talking points about why they’re know-nothing Republicans. It’s incredibly sad to listen to them knowing that they believe they’ve said something profound. It’s just ….sad. God help us all.
The support for these programs does tend to explain Trump’s success – bellyache about the same things your listeners do while conveniently not offering concrete and realistic solutions, but instead ambiguous platitudes easily perceived to be reinforcing their individual and collective prejudices – A playbook liberally used by The Big J.
Right Stephen, but how many have you talked to that are actually considering voting for him? The number here is frightening
We’ve slipped one by the conservatives w/ Edwards and in so doing have killed one messenger. We need to kill the message and it’s false Hayekian content.
Oops, a little background on Hayek –

If Mysterious is leaving, it is evident he/she is a Democrat whose only purpose was to poke fun at a “so called” Republican. Since he was brought into Goverment by a Democrat that changed in order to get elected, Jindal being a Republican is questionable. There is going to be plenty in the next Administration that could be used in the cartoon strip
And, as others have pointed out, not just in the inner circle of the administration. There will always be fodder out there so. maybe after a rest, our mystery cartoonist’s creative juices will rise and s/he will be inspired to return. Hope so.
You are absolutely right, the part time Jindal was not the king of Louisiana, the people’s representatives are complicit for putting us on the condition we are in. Democrats and republicans alike! There’s so much material out there, just look to New Orleans and the illustrious statue hating Landrieu.
Dear Mystery Cartoonist. Got to agree with the folks here that we can still use your skills and ability to poke folks with sharp things. The Colonel is still around (I hope not for long) at the LSP and there is still the “Lunacy of the Lege” to deal with. Please reconsider…take a breather, but there will still be work for you to do with our state politics and politicians.
The mystery cartoonist revealed his secret identity at the Bash Bobby Bash this afternoon. If you missed it, you also missed this reveal. A great time was had by all in attendance. I will leave it to MC to post his identity at his own discretion.
Dear Mystery Cartoonist, Thank you for all the humor you provided us during the painful years of the Jindal era. Humor is really what gets us through the rough patches in life. Your cartoons were Great!!! Hopefully you will continue after taking a break and relishing in the relief so many feel now that Jindal is out of office and the former governor is powerless to ongoing destruction of this great state.
I love you, MC….for my money you could continue the strip with scenes from Life With Piyush..aka the man who would be king…it would be delightful to see your take on him trying to sort out HIS health insurance, deal with increasing premiums and declining benefits on a retired civil servants pension…maybe we could peek into the challenges of getting the Jingle girls a decent education at one of Louisiana’s state universities…heck, even getting them through high school would provide a few yuck yucks.
Stay connected, MC…..
Jindal having to shop for his own groceries now sounds like a potential cartoon. I’ve enjoyed the series and hope the mystery cartoonist changes his mind on the retirement.
I thought about him in the grocery line, too, James….and especially holding ticket #99 at the DMV as the clerk says, “Now serving #17.” Heck, just seeing him pump and pay for his own gasoline when he goes on yet another of his self-serving but pointless rambles would be entertaining for me….(welcome to life as you blew it, BJ!)
So pleeeeeeeeeease, Mystery Cartoonist, stay with us…..
@Politicallypooped: Oh those images of him in the DMV line, pumping gas, all of them are just too funny.
Don’t leave us because we don’t know what this man will turn into once in power.
Oh I think we can know that he’s certainly going to be better than Piyush was.
Amen
your talent is too great to be abandoned. Louisiana needs you, so please, please continue your incredible work.
